I'm Back...Sorta

Gary,

sitting here drinking a nice glass of malt whisky gives me the ideal opportunity to refill and raise one to your good health! Good to hear your on the road to recovery..
Heh...

A good fellow brought me a bottle of 16-year old Glenlivet recently. Sadly it is nearly gone now, but a tup or two on an evening helps take the winter's chill off :D

Cheers,
Gary

Ugh...please...no booze talk. Last night, we celebrated m'birthday a couple weeks late and I really tied one on and I now have a late hangover. :P

(C'mon, what's three pints of cider, three pints of Guinness and four shots of Bailey's between friends?)

Booze? A fine single malt is certainly not "booze" that one would use to tie one on. You're thinking of Southern Comfort. Now *that* is booze. (Although I still wouldn't tie one on with Southern Comfort -- yuck.)

Comisseration...

I nearly over-imbibed to lift my spirits over the Bears' dreadful performance in the Superbowl, but being an experienced drinker I quit after two bottles of ale.

Cheers,
Gary

Greetings and best wishes, sir. I'm sorry to hear about your illness. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Regarding the 16-year of The Glenlivet... is that the "Nadurra"? How do you find the taste? I've only ever had the 12-year.

Heh,

I am too lazy to go hunt up the cylindrical box in which the Glenlivet Scotch resides, so I can not comment on any sub-appelation it has. I can say that it is most palatable--for my taste after being opened by the addition of a bit of water.

BTW, this is my first 16-year old, usually I settle for the eight- or 12-year old.

My favorite sort of Scotch is a pale, peaty single-malt that is at least eight years old.

Cheers,
GTary

Breakfast.

Of course! Gotta have something to wash the scotch egg, potato pancakes (laden with a nice mild cheddar and sour cream of course!), scones and bangers down with!

A man after my own (horribly, horribly clogged) heart!

Hey!

What's wrong with biscuits and gravy; or fried eggs, sausage, and grits and butter; or some Swiss roesti potatoes with fried eggs? Them's just for openers. Crepes with plenty of butter and bacon are also tasty, as are waffles.

Nothing in the world. I was going with a theme (guinness, cider, etc. :) ). As one suthun' gen'lman to anutha, sih, I declare biscuits and gravy, eggs and grits and sausage and bacon are from God's own kitchen! :)
