I think, you'll lose that bet. Have a look at the sample combat vs. the L30 red dragon. It implies the fighter is pretty consistently hitting AC49 while the rogue is having trouble and tries to flank the dragon to have a chance.

The focus on simplifying everything

Simplifying the simple doesn't seem a good design idea.

What is the problem with different BAB rates really?

I have a feeling Rogues will now have full BAB, and that they will scrap 1/2 BAB, but retain 3/4 BAB (ala Saga).

This also relates to my belief that Touch AC will go bye bye, so wizards will not be screwed, as they now have the same BAB as a cleric etc.

Or to get a sneak attack off, or whatever new flanking manoeuvre a rogue may have.
