I really like it- but I hate to see talented folks give thier work away for free...hobby or not, stress-release or not, 'exposure' or not...
But it is very good work....

I would really like to hear, even though it's not much to go on:

1. Does it have you asking questions, or does it have you interested?
2. What do you think of the format (one panel at a time, not full colored)
3. What's cool or not cool.

1. Yes, at first I was wondering (and hoping) if the humanoid group would be our protagonists. I've sort of moved away from that idea to thinking that they're a raiding party. But I'm stil hoping they're our 'good' guys.
2.One panel at a time is fine with me, it allows the idividual panels to be larger and show a bit more detail. i just hate it when the panels run out. I really like the limited palette you're using, it 1) adds to the atmosphere of a winter scene and 2)allows the line work to display it's quality.
3.All cool so far. With two very minor quibbles. 1)I've never been crazy about squiggly line speach bubbles such as Malzurek's. 2) In the second to last panel, the guy in midground on the left (goblin? with a crossbow) is a bit stiff.

But thats really just picking nits.

s/LaSH -- I'll probably use more than one panel in certain situations like fast combat moves.


Scorpio -- I know what you mean, doing it for free isn't great, but the comic industry is in such bad shape that I think getting people interested up front would help a lot more in the long run. Maybe after I have more of the story done I can get a PayPall thing going But the idea is to do one or two issues over the net to get people into the story and then maybe attempting a real comic.


Tanager -- thanks for the points. I'm not sure how else to show a rough wolf-like voice without doing the rough word balloon, i guess i could try another font.

I don't know, I'm kinda in the 'let the reader make the voices' school of thought. But hey, I'm not a comics style guru. Do what feels right.

One other question though, on the panel were we see Malzurek, is he supposed to be missing his left arm?

Yes, he has no left eye or arm.
