I'm kissing D&D good-bye: here's why

I do understand the limitations of time. Lately I've had no time to game at all.

But one can be master of more than one game. And you don't need to sell all of your D&D stuff to play d20 Modern - you never know when you might decide to play D&D again.

You certainly could get away with knowing much less if all you are is a player in a game. You could DM d20 Modern and play D&D, for instance, as a player only.

But hey, whatever works for you.

I have a policy, in general, of never getting rid of any books for any reason, so I guess I have difficulty with the concept of selling a large number of them, gaming or not...

(You're sure you actually played Teenagers from Outer Space, by the way? And you care to admit it?)

My group used to play TfOS. I used to GM it. I was known to be quite a good TfoS GM, in fact. What's worse, I actually wrote a Pascal program in college to generate characters for it. Sad.

Personally, I'm selling about half my RPG collection on eBay for the reasons people here listed: I need the money and, since I may be moving soon, don't have the space to keep them. A lot of my regular books are getting sold too, for the same reason.

Even so, I still have a crapload of RPG books. Not gonna part with my copy of Sprawl Sites for Shadowrun. :D

yes and yes. :)

if you want to name obscure RPGs, you'll have to do better than that...

how about HoL? Alma Mater? Aria? Nexus the Infinite City? Robot Warriors?

i've got tons of different games on my shelf, even if all of my gaming for the past four years has been d20. it's all good reading and reference material, as PC says.

Ysgarth? Powers&Perils? To Challenge Tomorrow?

Heh! Those ain't obscure - how about:
The Mega system by published and translated by Armoury.(An incredibly bad RPG...)
Spawn of Fashan (Ask Pirate Cat!)
The Morrow Project (Good game.)
Firebreaks (A live action scenario by the U.S. Government!)
Man, Myth, & Magic (Kind of fun.)
Mars (If you like complicated combat this is for you!)
Rus (A roleplaying game set in medieval Russia, I'd love to see a D20 version.)
Worlds of Wonder by Chaosium, three mini RPGs.

Now them's what I calls obscure!

The Auld Grump

*EDIT* Odd, the forum is adding an underline after 'about'... but it doesn't show up when I try to edit it. :p

Owned 'em all. There's copies of the first at Games Plus here in IL, the second was one of the first RPGs I ever returned, and the last I deeply regret exchanging. :\
