I'm looking for a few good Rogue's...

Good Rogue PrC's (min/max)=

1. Arcane Trickster (only at high levels)
2. Soul Knife (more of a Psi-War PrC, then a rogue PrC)
3. Guild Thief (probably best rogue PrC out there (if an only if you would have devoted ranks to the skills that gain the benefits at first level)
4. Fang of Lloth (only good for increasing sneak attacks, however, with multidexterity and multiattack, you get quite a lot of sneak attacks)
5. Thief Acrobat (great concept)
6. Spy Master (great concept)
7. Assassin (only good if you are actually going for the concept as you get the shaft on skill points)

In general taking rogue PrC's hurt because of the loss of BAB which is important to the rogue' already reduced BAB. If going for a melee fighting rogue always take at least one level of ranger and two levels of fighter are nice for the two feats. (Usually combat reflexes and expert tactician (netted)). If going for the missile fighting rogue, again, a few levels of fighter are nice for getting point blank shot and rapid shot.

However, if going for a more versatile rogue, skill points are what is important and in general anything you take will have fewer skill points. PrC's for rogues truly model the concept of PrC's in that you really have to give up something to get a more focused character.

Rogues, of course, have two main strengths: skill points, and sneak attack. Taking a Rogue PrC means you're going to lose out on one or both of these. There are no rogue PrCs that have the same number of skills and 8 points per level; the best you can find is a slightly reduced skill set and 6 points per level. And some rogue PrCs give up sneak attack completely, which I think is probably a mistake. After all, sneak attack damage is what makes the rogue effective in combat, as opposed to mediocre.

But some PrCs do make up for it in special abilities. For a pure rogue, the most attractive PrCs are the Guild Thief (from FRCS), the Herald, and the Nightsong Enforcer (both from Dragon). Soulknife is really good, if you've got psionics. The Duelist is also worth it, if you want to become more like a swashbuckler. Dragon also had some ninja-style PrCs (the Poison Fist, the Ghost-Faced Killer, and the Weightless Foot) that work nicely even if you take out the ninja-aspect.

I used to like the Arcane Trickster, but it's more spellcaster than rogue. You don't lose much sneak attack damage, but your BAB totally sucks, so you DO lose a lot. I'd prefer a mage/rogue PrC that was more rogue and less mage (since practically all the rogue-enhancing spells are low-level anyway).

Monte's ranger isn't a PrC, but it's definitely worth considering for a rogue-like character.

If you're planning on going to epic levels, I really like the Perfect Wight epic PrC. It's a rogue that is so good at sneaking that he gains ghostlike powers. But to qualify for it, you need a +10d6 in sneak attack damage, meaning that you *definitely* don't want to slow your sneak attack progression if you're aiming for this one.

Just to expand on Chun-tzu's line of thought, most of the Epic Feats that a Rogue would want to take require high Sneak Attack dice values or at least one or more of the Rogue's special abilities gained at 10th level & above (Opportunist, Defensive Roll, etc). While there is nothing wrong with taking a PrC to flesh out your character and add some flavor (all the ones mentioned so far in this thread are very nice) you will likely find yourself wishing you had just stayed a Rogue once you hit Epic levels. A few levels in another core class won't hurt you too much, but do keep the above in mind if you are concerned with Epic Feat selection in the future.

Rogue PRC

I like the arcane trickster for the magic-rogue.

Although I like the idea of the Theif Acrobat, I actually like the duellist better for a fighter-rogue type. Sure, you're sacrificing the sneak attack, but there are some pretty cool compensators.

PrC's that is, I can't find one that really speaks to me and I know there's one out there, and if someone is feeling really, really nice, could you please post the Epic Level handbook abilities, and the like?

1 Level of Barbarian will get you fast movement and Rage
1 Level of Ranger will get you 2 handed fighting, Track, and the ability to use CLW wands
1 Level of Bard will get you Inspire Courage and ability to use alot of Wands

Also, Harper Scout has a cool image but is a weak PRC.

Other than that I would stick with straight Rogue.

Actually, the Harper Scout is a pretty decent choice for a Rogue.

Becoming a Harper Scout grants you a good selection of spells. If you've got a Charisma bonus, at first level the Harper Scout can spontaneously cast Change Self, Charm Person, Comprehend Languages, Feather Fall, Message, Mount, Spider Climb, Camouflage and Low-Light Vision (last 2 added in Magic in Faerun), any of which may be useful to a mid or high level Rogue. If you have a high Charisma and take all 5 levels, you can actually gain access to many of the spellcasting PrCs (although this may not do you any good, since there isn't anywhere to advance in spellcasting ability, unless your DM agrees to work out a spell list and spell progression with you). You also get a good Will save as well as the Reflex save. Not to mention, of course, gaining access to one of the most extensive networks of spies in Faerun.

The biggest drawback is the high number of required skills (PLUS two feats). It's extremely unlikely to see any character take this class unless they have a level or 2 of rogue or bard. But if you have a good Charisma, it's definitely a PrC worth considering.

Edit - And Tymora's Smile at 3rd level is really nice. Add +2 to a saving throw even AFTER you've rolled the die! That will come in really handy at high levels against the save-or-die spells.
