[sblock=brief history]Overton Henry is a Jonah. He had worked as a river driver for several years, scouting for the small ship that would take cargoes and passengers through the deep forest. He was not big, not especially smart, but he had a feeling for the land, and as a lad had even seemed as a kind of mascot for his barque, the Journey’s Progress. Yes, that Journey’s Progress: you’ve heard the tales, how the dragon appeared and destroyed the ship and everyone on board,. Including Captain Hrothfell, hero of the battle of South Shield. Including the Duchess of Allyona, and her three handmaidens. Everyone except Overton, who survived, unscathed, even untouched. And so, Overton is no longer a river driver. He hardly has any job at all, in fact, not for a few years now. He can live off the land well enough, and it still seems that he is blessed by the land. But it’s hard not to forget what happened to the last group that took him in, and treated him like family. That’s why this caravan job sounds so appealing. No Rivers.[/sblock]

Still fumbling around a bit with character sheets. Is there a neat sheet on this site we can use, or a list like Kobold Stew's is pretty much the norm? I can't seem to save the pdfs found under the resources tab

I, unfortunately, do not know. This would be quite literally the second time I've run D&D 5e, and the previous time was offline.

Also, I don't know if this forum does points, but have one laugh point each, anyway.

(points are on the bottom of each post, on the left side)
(there are lots of sheets about; I just used the one that I find most intuitive, but feel free to copy/adapt)
(welcome to all the new players! This is awesome.)

Well, Random Bystander, due to the amount of interest in your game, i'm going to yield the cleric spot to Beer Crusher and give up my seat at the table, which I only wanted to keep warm until you had enough players show up, so my job here is done. Enjoy your game, all!

Yes on gold pieces; if there is a standard option, that's the one to take; if there is a choice between a dice roll, an average, or point-buy in character creation, take the point-buy above the average and the average above rolling. This keeps starting characters close to each others' power level; something I prefer for a module of this sort. Magic Stone is acceptable; I own the Elemental Evil Player's Companion.

However, you need to show your starting ability scores; it would be unfair of me to accept a character when I cannot check the point-value of the ability scores. Also, you need to fill out Personality, Ideal, Bond, and Flow. Provisionally on those, and provided a sudden flood of five perfect characters does not appear, you may consider your character accepted on those grounds.

The OP will be expanded to cover options other than the PHB.

To do:
1. Cantrip Magic Stone comes from the Elemental Evil Player’s Companion. If that’s not cool, I’ll put in Guidance or Druidcraft.
2. Characteristics still to come

I'll go ahead and write up a cleric tomorrow, but I really don't mind re-rolling a rogue should you come back.
