I'm reading the wrong Enworld forum

So, I've noticed I spend less and less time on Enworld. I've not been able to put my finger on it until today.

My go-to forum was the "D&D and Pathfinder" forum. This forum talks almost exclusively about mechanics now. While I enjoy mechanics, that's not why I play. I enjoy the creativity of the DMs and players more then I enjoy the nuts and bolts of the game itself.

So trying to figure out where all of my interesting idea threads had gone to, I decided on doing some thread necromancy. I often link stuff in my gmail account so I can go back through it later and pick ideas out. This is where I hit on it, all of the "idea" threads are in the "RPGs & Tabletop Gaming Discussion" forum. One which I've not been hitting often.

These contained post like
Creative Combat Objectives
What Items do all your PCs take
Awesome Art

Sadly, a lot of blog post by Reynard seem to be dead links now.

Alaxk, nobody plays for mechanics (Okay, not entirely true, but bear with me). However, the intangibles, things like campaign, player camaraderie, who made the great dip for the game last week-end, vary from house to house, table to table. Our point of similarity is the rules. So, the thing we can all talk about, or argue about, or make jokes about, that everybody can immediately identify, is the rules.

And let's add to it...the rules of the game we love are currently being updated, and we've been asked to provide feedback on them, so now we've got even more reasons to discuss the rules among ourselves, and convince each other that our own take is the best one.
