Double Post.

There once was a man from Nantucket
With a tiny TV in a bucket
When he watched Jeopardy
Just like Sean Connery
He always told Trebek to "Suck it!"

Well Bill this point will manifest in a couple months with DC's relaunch. Alot of Comic stores are holding their breath on this one, it has the potential to be REALLY GOOD or REALLY BAD.

Indeed. If I hung out on DC-oriented boards, I'd be popping a lot of popcorn right now to stockpile for the inevitable flamewar entertainment.

I am calling it as a bad move, not with any vitriol, I just think it bad for the industry. Coupled with their digital model, this could really hurt comic sales. I am not a marketer so I am just calling it as a comic fan with a an idea how the comic store market works.

Ultimately this is a risk. Maybe it will be good for the industry, only time will tell. I am calling it bad. We shall see.

It's definitely a ballsy move, but I'm increasingly convinced that periodic reboots can be a good thing. Think of all of the increasingly improbable crap characters go through as current writers try to keep dramatic tension alive while still working with decades-old continuity. I found it no longer worth managing in my head back in the 1990s when I stopped buying most superhero comics. Ultimates and Ultimate Fantastic Four brought me back for a while because, stripped of old continuity, they were fresh - perhaps particularly so because of many contrasts with old continuity. But now they're gone so I'm off superhero comics again.

Supes alone has been through about 8 or so reboots, as have others in the DCverse: a continuity-wide reboot, if respectful of the characters' core identities, could be good.

I am sick of the idea that if a race is small, cute, cuddly, or silly, that it has to be bad. While that may not be for everyone, there is an audience for it. For example, if my wife was to play Star Wars, she would play an Ewok.

I am sick of magic items with no flavor. A +3 sword of frost is a yawner compared to Chilltongue, sword of the Norse kings.

I am sick of not having a regular real-life game due to my excessive schedule. I miss my social life.

.

Ewoks are rather terrifying if you think about it...

Think about the feast they fed to the rebels, some of those pieces of meat were Storm Troopers. I'm pretty sure the Rebel Alliance did not notices all the human skulls or that the Ewoks used the storm trooper helmets as trophies...
