Well, given that I am not matematician and that my knowledge of excel is a crap, i think that following the table would be a better choice, if it is intended to follow the same linesof the book.

Also, I think that the excel calculator looks amazingly good, the fnal version could have a first tab to have a brief note fromthe author and a general how to use each section, else this looks great, thanks for sharing it! ;)

It's not really meant for public distribution yet; eventually a cover sheet and/or an OGL sheet would be appropriate.

Oh I know, still experimental, embrionary state. I was just saying what I think would benefit it the most, the OGL should be there too, of course.

Anyway, I got dizzy with all those calculations and formulas... guess that was the reason I left engineering for law study...

Warning! Thread Heist In Progress!

Hey Upper_Krust,

I've got both great respect and need for your CR wizardry. I'm trying to re-design True Dragons, by boiling them down into a single common species which can then be augmented by subtype and terrain.

Please, take a look:

If you could help out with CR / LA suggestions, I'd be grateful.

Thanks, -- N

Flattery will get you anywhere. ;)

I'll be sure and take a look, I'll respond a bit later tonight.

Don't forget one of the design parameters of the Core designers-- Dragons are deliberately under-costed.

If you cost out dragons using UK's system, then multiply by 2/3 (instead of 1/2) you'll have a "realistic" CR. Multiply by 1/2 if you want to carry on with the core design philosophy that dragons should be more badass than their CR indicates.

OK, I've been going over the sheet again and I've tidied up the formulas. I haven't yet made fractions work, but that shouldn't be too hard now that I can tell -- or at least guess -- how your functions work, since they're shorter now.

In keeping with your design principles, the Excel calculator follows the chart rather than the exact numbers.
