Implication of choosing powers from another class's list

I am talking of course about the Warlock who quite clearly has been allowed to select a Wizard power.

I expect many have noted that Tira, the level 1 Warlock, has access to a wizard power. It's probably been discussed before but I didn't find any thread.

Ray of Frost : Wizard Attack 1

I suppose that is why she is using a +2 to attack and damage instead of +4 ; she is using her intelligence modifier (as befit a wizard powers) instead of charisma.

So, first of all, is there an errata? (thus making the whole thread superfluous)?

If not, anyone has any information regarding this feature? Will this carry over in 4ed or they were just short one power for the warlock at the time the PC was created? It it can be done, what are the restriction? Perhaps you can only do it a limited number of time and the power selected must be or your power source type (i.e. Arcane for Warlock)...

Secondly, is it a good idea? I'm ambivalent. If it's not too common, this allow for some customization beyond just selecting feats. On the other hand I like the uniqueness of each class and this endanger it.

My guess is that it is a racial feature of the half-elf, which allows the half-elf to choose a power from another class. But that is just a guess.
That is mine as well, as well as the guess of ppl on the Gleemax forums.

I for one hope there are some limits on it, if not the classes all sort of run together. I dont think much has been said about it other then classes can take other classes powers to some minor degree if they dont want to multiclass.

It has been hinted that she is getting this through her racial ability as a Half-elf. A rcial ability/power to pick 1 power from another class or something.

They can? That'd be a damn good guess then.

That would be a very powerful ability. Is there restrictions or can a half elf fighter really have at will magic missiles?

The clear answer is a loud and resounding maybe!

Useless conjecture for now, it's entirely possible it's a Warlock thing, or anyone can do it but Half-Elves are better at it, or any number of other possibilies.

It should be pointed out that for the purposes of balance I can see little difference between MM and a bow. But it may be that WotC agrees that it would be too powerful, since the updated Warlock has Ray of Frost as an encounter ability instead of an at will ability.

I can verify that THIS exact thing was not said as there is one glaring error in its wording. However, I can't say what that error is since it would be against my NDA.

"Classes can take other classes powers to some minor degree through the use of feats, which is how (or at least one of the ways) you multiclass in 4e?"
