The RPG news is my first stop on ENWorld and has been since the early days. There are weeks when I do not even come to the forums. However, hardly a day goes by where I do not read the news page. It is an important feature of the site and it allows me to stay abreast of the latest devellopements in d20 developments. It definitely should be kept.

Thanks for the hard work Morrus.

I'd hate to lose the news page, because that's my primary source for RPG news. I don't do DDI, so I almost never go to the WotC site, and EN World does a pretty good job of keeping up to date on 3d party news and publications. If I lost EN World news, I'd either have to jump through multiple sites, or find another site that does as good a job of news aggregating.

Like others have posted, I come to the news page first, scan that, and then click through onto the forums.

I read the news page every couple of days.

However, to be honest, at the moment, I wouldn't miss it all that much.

However, when WotC and/or Paizo announce their new editions, I would hope the news would become a lot more interesting, and I wouldn't want to be without the news page then.

So, I would say that if it's a choice between "keeping it forever" or "losing it forever", then I say keep it. If, however, the choice is between "keeping it forever" or "putting it on hiatus until the new edition(s)", then the latter is probably the better choice.

This is exactly my feelings.

I'm one of those who skims the news page whenever I log in. I can't say I usually follow a link through, but I do still find items of interest from time to time.

Personally eliminating the front/news page is simply be the industry's final death knell since the "only" remaining source of relevant information would be DDI .... and the chance of Hasbro/WOTC publicly announcing anything regarding competitor's products, especially favorably, would be akin to them admitting their customers were right after all and renouncing 4e in favor of becoming strictly a third-party publisher for Pathfinder.

How much coverage does WOTC provide now for Traveller? Exalted? Mutants and Masterminds?? Can/Do you REALLY expect it to change...

.... the industry/fanbase NEED Enworld's effort at providing independent unbiased coverage regardless of publisher.

Do I read the news page religiously? No. I probably check facebook more often, but it's easier to check facebook on my mobile phone.

Do I really enjoy seeing stuff on the news page? Yes, I do. I have learned a lot about the RPG world from it.

Have I been turned on to products I wouldn't have known about without the news page? Absolutely. I appreciate the news page a lot. It is one of the reasons I buy stuff from the EN World store first if it is available.
