improved sniping?

i know there has to be a feat for improved sniping in one of the splatbooks. something like "lower the penalty to Hide checks to conceal yourself after making a ranged attack from -20 to -10." where do i find it?

Not that I know of, but there is a spell that lets you do it out to 60ft. I believe it is in Complete Adventurer (and maybe the spell compendium). It's a Sorcerer/Wizard and Assassin spell.

For increasing your range, there's Crossbow Sniper from PHB II, which gives you 60 feet to sneak attack.

The Halfling Rogue substitution levels from Races of the Wild give that same sniping ability (Hide penalty of -10 instead of -20) at 10th level instead of a Rogue Special Ability.

Crossbow Sniper from Player's Handbook II. For extra juiciness, it also adds 1/2 Dex to damage.

(I found out about this feat over 3 weeks ago, but I'm still trying to decide if it makes a crossbow competitive with a composite longbow, even for a rogue. I'd almost rather have a mighty composite longbow with a +2 over-rated Strength. Then take a 1-level dip in Barbarian for Whirling Frenzy, and take the Extra Rage feat.)
