Improved vigor...since update....

Ok so I am a human/battlerager fighter with battlerager vigor and I know that means even if i miss with an invigorating power i still get half the temp HP I'd get if i hit with it equal to constitution mod, which is 3.

My question is if I choose improved vigor as a feat and miss with an invigorating power, do i still get the extra +1 temp hp, giving me 4 THP, or do i just get 3 THP because i missed and then do not qualify for that improved vigor power.

I'm assuming of course if i hit with it i'd get 7THP.

Any help is appreciated.

"You gain a +1 feat bonus to the number of temporary hit points you gain from using an invigorating power."

Did you use an invigorating power? Yes. Did you gain temporary hit points? Yes. Then you get the bonus temporary hit points as well. So in your example, on a hit you gain 7, on a miss you gain 4. At least that's the way we've been playing it.
