Submission Process:
As this is my first foray into 4E, I’m looking for a group of 4-6 characters with a wide range of both races and classes. The more I get to see of the new rules the better. I only want character concepts at this point, with a bit of background info but no stats or power choices yet. I’ll take applications until Sunday, June 8, and then those selected can stat out their characters as we explore the character creation rules together.

I have not yet received my books, but I have them preordered, so they should be arriving this weekend. My hope is that all players will have access to the PHB in time to build their characters. I have some strong ideas for the first few quests, so we should be able to start adventuring Monday, June 15th or so.

Proposed Characters So Far

Defenders
Osric--Dwarf Fighter—Pathfinderq1
--Dragonborn Paladin of Tiamat—Warshrike
Jaden Henries--Halfling Fighter--OutlawJT

Leaders
Penance—Tiefling Cleric of the Raven Queen—Walking Dad
Bheazir—Half-elf Warlord—Zweischneid

Strikers
Valamir—Human Warlock (Star Pact)—EvolutionKB
Immeral--Eladrin Ranger--Zurai
Akara Thriv--Dragonborn Rogue--Kobold Stew
Corbin Tallfellow--Halfling Rogue--Renau1g
Keira--Half-elven Warlock (Infernal Pact)--Bialaska
Aliera--Eladrin Warlock(fey pact)--dekarguy

Controllers
Mirna—Human Wizard—Graf
Galdr--Tiefling Wizard--Warlocklord
A quick glance will show that we're running high to strikers, an interesting but not unexplainable phenomenon (it is the only role with three classes, after all.)

With all of the interest, and a bit of a tendency to take on too much, I've decided to take a page from S@sq@atch's book and turn this into two different parties. I'm going to change that up a bit, however, since I have added flexibility as the creator of the adventures, not just the DM, and I'm going to put both parties in the same version of the town, meaning you all will hear about each others' exploits, probably meet each other once in a while, and have some interplay between the storylines. I don't want this to be competitive, so I will assure you that everyone will have plenty of experience and treasure to accumulate, and that DM ex machina will freely prevent you from thiefing the other party's hooks. I just thought it would be fun to have a small town with two emerging parties of adventurers.

With that being said, I then have to divide applicants into two parties, and we still wind up with a few too many, so I apologize to those who do not get selected. I did my best to balance abilities and create parties that will have positive interactions between the characters. I'm not looking for a lot of internal struggle here, although it may pop up in places. Some of the characters, while very interesting, seemed a bit far away from the overall feel of the setting and other submissions.

Anyway, here goes. I decided I'd split the characters up by how they seem to feel about the town as a whole. Those who are disatisfied with some aspect seemed like they might find each other easily and set out to prove they don't need the townsfolk, while those who seem more connected might step easily into the role of protectors of the community. I hope you feel that I got the right sense of your character, although I had to put a few on the rebellious side who didn't quite fit...

The Protectors OOC Thread
Osric--Dwarf Fighter—Pathfinderq1
Penance—Tiefling Cleric of the Raven Queen—Walking Dad
Valamir—Human Warlock (Star Pact)—EvolutionKB
Immeral--Eladrin Ranger--Zurai
Mirna—Human Wizard—Graf

The Young Rebels OOC Thread
Jaden Henries--Halfling Fighter--OutlawJT
Bheazir—Half-elf Warlord—Zweischneid
Akara Thriv--Dragonborn Rogue--Kobold Stew
Corbin Tallfellow--Halfling Rogue--Renau1g
Galdr--Tiefling Wizard--Warlocklord

Although I still haven't received my books (I'm one of the lucky Amazon pre-order folk, who seem to be left waiting) I did get to look through the PHB yesterday, so I've made a decision on stats. I'd like you to use the standard array (16, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10). Standard wealth, so 100 gp, and most of the standard equipment is available, although no armor better than chain at this point, and no exotic weapons without a really good backstory. Remember, you're in an isolated town 100 years after the empire fell, so there isn't a steady source of arms and armor, other than the town blacksmith who spends most of his time on horseshoes and ploughs.

Any other questions, please fire away. You can use the OOC threads to discuss with your group members, or this one to discuss things with all players.

Again thanks to all, it's always tough to turn anyone away. I hope to encounter you all on the threads in the future, and please, keep checking back. I have seen many people drop out of games in the past, so there might be some openings later on.

Wow! You've put yourself with lovely package of work there! That'll be awsome if we manage to make it work like that...

Thanks for the selection Redclaw!

Alright Young Rebels Assemble!

! yes, thanks Redclaw. Looking very much forward to playing this with you guys...

Put a proposal for stats in the Rebel thread. See you there!

I'm glad everyone is okay with the groupings. Feel free to change the party "names", and I'll adjust the relevant threads accordingly. Those were just placeholders, really.

I'll continue adding information about Evenfall to this thread, and probably brief descriptions of stories that build up around you all, so keep checking it once in a while.

Does the two groups know each other?

I mean, if Galdr and Penance are the nearly/only Tieflings in town, it would be strange , if thea didn't know each other.
