In Praise of Stuff that Doesn't Get Praised Enough

Glorantha. Imo, it's the best fantasy rpg world evar. It's rich, creative, weird and shows tremendous scholarship in the field of mythology.

Actually, everything by Chaosium, and Greg Stafford in particular, is pretty much awesome.

I'll agree with that- all of it.

The original RQ "campaign packs" like Pavis, Griffin Mountain, Borderlands, Questworld & Big Rubble are THE standard IMO for campaign setting material regardless of game system.

And of course there are the "other" masterpieces like CoC, Stormbringer, Thieves World..even Superworld & Elfquest were done exceedingly well.

Heartfelt praise to those players/characters that spend a good amount of time asking other characters for their opinions/ideas, or just to share a story. It almost always leads to good fun and great RP. Good individual character development is, in my opinion, a team effort.

Gary Gygax, for being such a consumate geek about so many things (from polearms to mythological attributes of gems) and writing it all up into a game, for sharing his campaign world with us, and for coming on ENWorld to answer hundreds and hundreds of dang fool questions.

And WOTC, for keeping the game alive when it nearly went bankrupt.

Fellow gamers/GMs.

Also, purveyors of geek food: Pizza Hut, White Castle, Dino's, geek chefs, SOs, you name it. Heck, I'll even give a shout out to Dominos even though I never eat it.

Gaming to me is food, folks & fun and I don't have the latter without the former.

And don't forget the Geeksnacks: Doritos, Cheetos, Fun-yuns and Mountain Dew (or Mtn Dew, as its spelled nowadays).

Well, that's understandable. You don't eat fries with grilled weasel. Mashed potatoes or rice are the only acceptable sides for weasel.

Fries are acceptable with grilled weasel if...

Served on a bun with cole slaw on the grilled weasel and fries topping the cole slaw.

It's a "Burgh" thing.

People not trying to be clever and inexplicably setting the color of their text to white. Especially since the default text color is white. The entire indented portion of your post is invisible to me on my RSS reader unless I highlight it.
Well, just to explicate it a little :): Indentation shows up as orange text in my view (Black), and I didn't want a big wall of orange text.

For me...

1. Gary Gygax. Yes, he will always get praise, but never enough in my opinion.

2. WotC for 3x and the OGL.

3. Larry Smith. The original designer of the Battle of the Five Armies wargame I bought in the late 70s. Mine was (is) the TSR reprint. I bought this soon after reading The Hobbit which further cemented my interest in fantasy and gaming.

4. My blue 20 sided die that rolls a disproportionate number of 20s.

Here's the folks with a bad attitude that have nothing to contribute to a thread... and then don't post! They're never noticed because they aren't there!

I appreciate that.
