In two weeks (6/10)

Feyd Rautha

First Post
Vince is taking the week off in two weeks and so we need to decide what to do. I figured I'd take the lead on this to give him a much needed break, but don't take that as a guaranteed thing...

Here were some ideas we discussed last night:

Traditional 3.5 DnD adventure
The Black Company (Fantasy Series) D20 (No magic wargamer paradise)
An alternate Conan story
Cyberpunk/Shadowrun/D20 Modern (CyberpunK) - John would run this
Silver Age Sentinels Superheroes game

Other alternatives are available, but if everyone who will be making it in two weeks could post their preference (since whoever runs needs time to prepare) it would be greatly appreciated.

I have long wanted to get a superhero game off the ground, but I don't think Vince and I can reach consensus on a superhero game he would be interested in playing and I would be interested in running. So, I think a superhero game is out.

For what it is worth, I think the X-men movie has cemented for me my desire to run a game where heroes have a common origin and reasons for teaming up, and where they fight against other super-powered opponents who wish ill on humanity. (i.e. super-villains.)

As Michael wrote, I would be interested in running a Cyberpunk game, probably using Mongoose's OGL Cybernet, since we have a couple copies of that book floating around the gaming group.

I would also be interested in running a game where players are government agents fighting a secret war against supernatural weirdness, such as X-files, Hellboy or Men in Black.

Can you guys reach a consensus on a superhero game you'd both be interested in playing? Given two weeks I could get enough of a handle on a ruleset to give it a go.

Anyway... could others perhaps give some input if they plan to play? The longer the planning the better the potential adventure. Or is the thought that we won't have enough people in two weeks. Nick is out I assume from our conversation and so that would leave two players and a GM...

Cheerio...

I don't think so. The thread is (thankfully) lost to the great thread death of a while back but as I recall the conversation, we agreed that we are not going to reach a compromise so it is best to rule out a superhero game.

Those three listed above are my preference. I am also up for a Western/supernatural thriller type game.

I'm not 100% yet, but I may be busy with various things come two weeks time. I'm still working out a time, but I might have a family thing on Saturday (or Friday they can't decide).

I'll keep you posted, but unless there is more interest perhaps Vince's time off should be time off?

I'm up for pretty much anything. I'm willing to try whatever you guys are willing to throw out there. As far as I know I will be available.

Hey guys. I just realized over the weekend that I can't make the 10th. My cousin Steve is coming home from Iraq (he's in the army) and we're having a big party for him that day. Y'all have fun without me now, y'hear...? ;)

Have we come up with a plan at this point? Is anyone planning on coming? Are we just taking the day off? The only thing I am really reading is Mutants and Masterminds 2e, but I could switch if we could reach a consensus.
