I think this was asked in threat before the crash.
But since i cant find it i ask again.

The new Incantatrix class has to give up one Scool of Magic at their first level.
I can take the Class at Level 6 earliest and must then give up one Scool.
Question number one if i give up for example Illusion do i loose alll Spells of this school?
I use some until acquiriung the PRC or do i only loose the abillity to learn new Spells of this School after adding the PRC?

Question 2 What of the following Schools is the best in your oppinion to give up:
Conjuration, Evocation, Enchantement, Illusion, Necormantic or Transformation?

Thanks Khelvan.

IIRC, you keep any existing spells of that school, but can't learn any more. I can't remember where I read that though, so hopefully someone else will come along with a more definitive answer.

If I'm right about keeping your existing spells, then I'd ditch Necromancy.

False life is the only must have, and you can have that (along with other nice spells such as spectral hand) by the time you qualify for Incantrix. A lot of the higher level necromancy spells have the [Evil] descriptor anyway.

1) It doesn't specifically say either way, but there is another class (Red Wizard from DMG), which has a similar restriction and specifically states, that you keep all spells learned up to that point; that can be used as a precendent, since it's more likely that these similar abilities are handled similar than the opposite. The 3.0 Incantatrix also clarified it better, that you keep the previously learned spells, maybe just an editing error, that this clarification is not included anymore. It's also quite logical, that you do not suddenly lose your previous knowledge, when you decide to stop pursuing one school of magic in order to spend more time studying other forms of magic.

2) Evocation or Necromancy; Enchantment and Illusion are also possible; Conjuration and Transmutation are both too good to give up.

And yet in every new sourcebook, we have the Hexblade, Dread Necromancer, Warlock, etc. Why? Because Evil is Cool(tm).

I'll cast evil spells, even as a neutral person. And ya can't stop me. =P
