You're not following that line of discussion, Scion. We weren't talking directly about the incense. And I beg to differ, it is important.

Infiniti2000 said:Scroll up. We were discussing arcane preparation, not the incense. But, maybe I just have no clue what your post means.
Scion said:Have a rules quote for this somewhere?
Veril said:I use the DMG. It's says +1 caster level. Not +1 level for each class. It specified that you get 1 caster level.
Okay, like I said, you are not following the conversation at all, so just drop it -- it doesn't concern you.Scion said:I did, and both of you are talking about timing issues that have to deal with preparing spells and using the incense within those issues.
You asked if it was still possible given the rules to prepare the spells being maximized and he said yes, you could leave even leave the slots open.
I am not sure what your rest arguement has to do with anything in this thread however. Yes spellcasters need to have rest before preparing spells. No it doesnt effect the items effects.
For the record then, if we're getting hung up about the word "all," should we be getting equally hung up about "his?" I suppose next we'll hear that it works for arcane or divine spells, but only for male casters, since it says "his" and not "his or hers." For Pete's sake, it's clear what the intention is and those people who are trying to abuse it should be able to see that.mikebr99 said:I does not. It says "all HIS spells"... "his" is refering to the DIVINE spellcaster.
Scion said:So why exactly couldnt they mean exactly what they said? Maybe it is supposed to work that way for multiclassed characters. Maybe they intended from the start to have it that way and people who are limiting it to divine only are going against the intent.
It isnt that the rules are not saying something and we are assuming in a vacuum, it literally 'does' say 'all'.
Of course humans cant fly, they dont have a fly speed.
Of course this item isnt limited to only divine spells, it doesnt specify divine only.
Same thing.
If you wish to assume that they meant something different than what they said and use that feel free, everyone has their own little list of rules modifications so that they make more sense to them.
