Increasing Saves for a Sorcerer/Wizard

Ecanus

First Post
Hey guys this is my first post so don't destroy me. I was wondering if any of you recall a feat or spell that allowed you to spend a daily spell to increase your Fort/Reflex/Will saves but only on a single DC check (this might be a little overpowered if it continued for more then a turn).

For example, spending one of your daily 3rd level spells to increase all your saves by 3 for the DC check. I was just wondering because I remember seeing it but I can't find it now and it's driving me crazy. Any help would be appreciated.

In the Spell Compendium, there are Greater Resistance (4th) and Superior Resistance (6th), which grant a +4 and +6 resistance bonus on saves for 24 hours. You can also make them permanent via the Permanency spell.

No such spell comes to mind.

You should have a decent concentration check as a spellcaster, so try to acquire the 3 diamond mind save boosters from tome of battle (moment of precise mind, action before thought, mind over body). They let you make a concentration check in place of a save 1/encounter.

You can access them via the martial study feat, a maneuver-granting item or the heroics spell.

There is a feat to be able to use your int for reflex saves and one to let you use your charisma for will saves.
The abjurant champion gets the ability to burn a spell for a bonus on saves for the round equal to the spell slot used at 4th level. Requires BAB of 5, combat casting, 1st level spells, and 1 martial weapon prof. Easy to go into as a sorcerer or a wizard and you get D10 HD, full BAB, full spellcasting, and some other useful abilities.

The True Believer feat gives you a +2 bonus on a single save once per day but must be declared before you know if the roll was successful or not.

Our group finds that underpowered so we've house ruled it to be +2 once per day after you have rolled (presumably once you know you would have failed) or +3 per day if you announce before the roll. Something to consider.

Ah I found the feat I was referring to, it's called Draconic Arcane Grace and its located on page 102 of the Races of the Dragons. Thanks for the input everyone.

As an immediate action, you can give up an arcane spell slot to gain a bonus on all saving throws until the start of your next turn. The bonus equals the level fo the spell slot used. You can declare that you are using this ability after you have rolled a save, but you must do so before the DM reveals whether the saving throw succeeded or failed

Got to admit that the idea of a permanent greater resistence sounds amazing.
