Info from the Israeli translator?

OK, I'm dumb and I can't find the information that was posted some time ago about future 4e releases... someone could kindly give me a pointer?

I don't remember anything coming from the Israeli translator, but there were some rumors that supposedly originated from the Italian translators. Scott Rouse shot those down pretty quickly though.

Yes, I remember those... you can never trust us Italians... ;)

But I'm pretty positive that some time ago, perhaps back in August some information was leaked by someone from Israel about future releases planned for next year. IIRC an arcane and perhaps a divine book were mentioned.

Here is the original thread (posted before the official 4E announcement, but after the "4adventure" countdown appeared on the WotC site).

Here is the post about the initial books (note he later corrects his translation of "magic book" to "arcane book").

He got the 4E initial information right. It's also clear he got the magic item book right.

His list of 2008 books:
FR campaign setting
Dragon-related book
Magic item book
Magic book
Martial arts book.
FR campaign setting - Check
Dragon-related book
Magic Item book - Check
Arcane Book
Martial arts book - likely a martial book rather than a "martial arts" book.

So, it would be reasonable to expect an "Arcane" book later this year. Interesting, and exciting. I wonder if that is where the swordmage will make his appearance, and perhaps the bard as well (less likely, as its power source is disputable).

-edit-
And a Martial book as well? Neato! My bets are on that we will see a martial controller, and the monk, in that book.

I think that it would be reasonable to expect an arcane-themed book at some time, and in fact everything on that list at some time. I don't particularly think this rumor is enough to say for certain that it will be this year. The fact that two of the books listed in the rumor have been confirmed doesn't mean much, because we've known for a while that these books would be coming out this year. I mean, we were told pretty much after the 4E announcement that a FR book would be first. We've also known for quite a while that there were too many magic items for the PHB, so an additional book is not a surprise.

Of course, the original post was made before the 4E announcement and the second only a few hours afterwards. That certainly argues for its veracity (admittedly, WotC may have changed their plans since August).

That is true... but it's not like 4E completely blind-sided most of us, nor do I think that the list is anything that wouldn't be expected by any of us in the first year of publication anyway.

Maybe I'm just a little more cynical about information from the internet.

I'm pretty sure that the Bard was said to be an Arcane Leader.

I don't remember any official 4E references to the bard. Everything I remember seeing was speculation from non-WotC sources (and maybe some informed speculation from WotC sources, such as reasons why we probably wouldn't see the bard for a bit).
