Infusions (MoTW) : Standard Action?

Hypersmurf

Moderatarrrrh...
I've seen it suggested that activating an infusion requires a standard action, regardless of the casting time of the spell involved.

The recent threads on Quickened spells in wands suggest that this might be inaccurate.

Thoughts?

In the FAQ, the Sage states that unlike other magic items, infusions are always activated as a Standard action.

Huh. So he does.

Despite paragraph 2.

Worth carrying a couple of infusions of Hallow around in Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil, I can see!

Every druid should tuck away a Call Lightning infusion for a rainy day....to help chase the blues away. (As well as the rest of the goblin tribe...)

Its one of the very few reasons I'd ever take infusion myself.

and why Infusions are broken. No DM I know allows them. Oh well...
All the dreams of instant Call Lightning and Ressurections have been popped.

You can also make an infusion for no cost but XP. Another reason they're broken.
