I've been a patron here for a long, long time. From when The Tavern was sheparded by TSRO's and in all that time I have seen a few things.. But today, I really saw the place hit rock bottom.

I come in for my usual RP session to see people emoting ' Eating babies ' not once, but over and over again, and someone using a Decanter of Endless water to 'spray' others, tactfully holding it to his crotch.. I mean, yes we are adults, and like to RP as them, but even for me, as a broad-minded person - and those of you who have known me over the last seven or so years know how broad-minded I am..

Even for me this is too much. I mean, for the love of God, where's the enjoyable RP aspect in that sort of thing?

Is there a CoC breach here, or do we now allow this sort of thing? I surely hope someone reads the logs and does something about this.

Well, there was another occurence in the crt a few months back. It seemed to be disregarded, but it was a killing of a child in the Crossroads tavern.

Personally, that whole business is Entirely Offensive to me. More than the use of God, but that's a completely different animal all on its own for a topic.

I don't want to downgrade this to age or gender. It's not about that, as each one has its own levels of sickness, retarded idiot ramblings, thoughts, ideas. So let's pretend this is one of those really bad ones, and that it was a mistake.

The CoC can be a pretty grey area, and after it's perusal, well.

Maybe a little more strong handed Wizo action can occur here.
Perhaps a little help on the boards, I have a feeling that these offenders use these boards *heavily* so.

Perhaps a little guidance in what levels of RP conversation, topic, ideas are acceptable, that is basically where this post of mine is gearing towards. A request of sorts.

I've been here almost as long as you and I have to say this is one of the most shocking things I've heard that has gone on in the isrp area. Our Wizo's are good ones though, they will make sure it's looked into, and dealt with. I am only glad I wasn't there to see it. In a game or not, seeing emotes of babies being eaten chills me to the core. I'm a mom ooc and that is just beyond anything that could ever be IC behavior. I've seen demons, devils and vampires harm folks IC in the storyline of their game but never children, and never open in a disgusting way.

Glad you brought attention to this, those of us who love the isrp area need to speak up more when something like this is seen. The Wizo's appreciate it since when they are not there we are the eyes and ears, each of us. Speaking up is a good thing.

In every fan fiction, Wizards/TSR published novel or players' guild -- have I ever seen any character of any race or religion practice the act of eating babies, nor have I ever read (or comprehended) that any barkeep would allow the lunacy a character being perverse with any of the bar items ... or that any bard would fall low enough in its' self esteem to perform such a performance.

I have to concede with Thanriyon's complaint. I have recognized that there has been a sudden decease in the maturity levels of Wizards' everyday gamers. I was once a regular on the Wizards site. I even played when the company was owned by TSR. But have lost interest in the site, because of how some of the characters conduct themselves. I think that there should be some sort of reiteration of the COC to the patrons, and perhaps the Wizo staff should pay more attention to the content of the chat (especially quarrels in the tavern, but that's a different complaint).

And I am not going to touch the comment about God, but that to me is a clear example of the immaturity or over dramatics the site is having problems with.

Ok guys, from what I understand there was no host on duty at the time of these occurences. However, it was noticed and is as we speak being gone over with a fine tooth comb and plenty of action being taken. Please do not assume that just because you couldn't directly see something at the time, that nothing was done. If in doubt that it has come to a host's attention, or if a host does not seem to be doing a proper job of handling it please take a moment to report the room, date and time to either myself or an ISRP host.

As for the prior incident of child murder, I was not aware of this, or don't remember. So I cannot comment, other than to say the above. It might have been handled after the fact, or no one told us and we were not there to witness it. Sorry guys, if no one complains and brings it to our attention nothing gets done. That does not mean it's acceptable, just missed.

Again, from what was mentioned above these are not acceptable behaviors and will be treated as such by the hosts.

Personally, I have always been against any harm to children, like Ethera's player I am a mother in the real life. Being such it's not a coat I can take off, it's a part of me. Alas due to that I tend to get a touch insane when it comes to young ones, perhaps the lion mother instinct kicks into overdrive. All that being neither here nor there it is not a part of any grand fantasy, take a look at the wonderful movies to see such evidence Lord of the Rings, just to name one.
One other thing I would like to mention is that I think George misses the entire point, he was using a normal everyday exclamation to voice strong feeling, it has nothing at all to do with religion. Besides he did ask forgiveness for it in any case.
Last thing I'd like to mention, I was wondering in addition to the harming of children and downright crude conduct, what does one think about the abuse of others, namely the slaves, on this site? In said tavern, when last I recall you could easily move to the clearing if you want to bash on someone.

The reprehensible behavior of the players Than has reported would definitely fall under the CoC violation of "profanity, vulgarity, or explicit content."

More to the point, such activity is done for no other reason than to be deliberately and patently offensive. Unfortunately, some players use this mask of electronic anonymity to exceed the limits of bad taste, since they apparently feel that the only way they can gain attention (good, bad, or indifferent) is to behave like an infantile cretin.

The actions Than talks about are totally out of bounds, and I'm sure there would have been strong and swift reaction by the Wizos if any had been on duty.

As to the killing of a child, doesn't it come down to whether or not the child is a player char? If someone plays a child, and wants it killed, is that unacceptable? I almost wish there were a limit on the age allowed for chars because, yes, there have been a few child chars that Kat wouldn't at all mind someone killing. And I have two of my own in real life, so it's not a lack of maternal empathy.

This is a PG general site. Children do venture to this site. There is a reason I do come here. It's fun, it's relaxed. I certainly don't come here to watch a character get killed. No matter the age.

The idea of a child being killed off, whether it's a demonic little freak or not, still kinda makes me sneer derisively at whomever the people are who do choose to FORCE me, or whomever else to view it and think about it.

It really makes me freaking ticked off.

Not only that someone would force a sick and twisted thought into my head, force me to read it, because obviously I'm NOT venturing into the ISRP area to read/see/RP that. I mean it's a tavern, it's an emporium, not to mention the great big old warning sign of the COC as a person generally signs up.

That we're even having to talk about someone wanting to kill/eat a child here, just be thankful that I'm not that Wizo who's investigating....Heads would roll hehe.

Or at the least instant bannage as soon as it was confirmed.

You know it's about acceptable behaviour in this PG site. Personally, the thought, the idea, generally turns my stomach and I yes, obviously I'm pretty ticked.

If you are in that type of mindset. Really, I don't want to know you, I don't want to rp with you, and there are other sites I'm sure that are more geared towards this type of mindset. That is saying it in the most diplomatic way possible. I have a few more colourful ideas and opinions that I'm just holding under wraps.

I DONT need to see, hear or think about those things...Take it off site, keep it off.
