Inquisitive

Tuft, note that the Daredevil uses weapons as both implements and weapons. In the case of a crossbow, for example, that means that your power to kick hard or throw caltrops is improved because you're holding a crossbow in your hand, using it as an implement. In this case, the weapon is not actually used, it serves more as a confidence boost.

I can see a problem with this, but I feel this is the same problem about suspension of disbelief that the bards Cha-based melee attacks suffer from.

My martial arts background says that properly invoking your spirit(CHA) is a great way to make sure you deal real damage... an attack with good follow through is also harder to avoid plus the bard may also be channeling the ancient hero's to guide his hand (governed by charisma makes as much sense as anything it takes enthusiasm really it does)

-- I seem unable to resist the temptation ;) sorry.

Good thoughts Starfox, and it's ok if we disagree about the toolbelt thing.
I'll be away from computer till sunday/monday, but I'll comment on the other powers you wrote/redesigned then. Thanks for keeping the ball rolling on this, and looking forward to see where our collaboration leads. :)

What you need is an object in the same mold as an implement/weapon/focus. A bag-of-tricks/toolbox/utility-belt that is a keyword for these powers and thus enables them. And just as with an implement, you can squeeze your players for more expensive and improved versions, giving these powers more and more bonus as they level up. :)

I'm sorry, I missed the point you were trying to make here; that tool belts could be a new type of implement. That's an interesting idea.

Made a new version of the Daredevil. It is pretty complete up to epic levels; imagining what an epic martial controller can do is a bit harrowing.

I went over this thread and saw Quickleaf's ideas about target-specific powers. I'll try to make my version of those soonish. But after working on this latest version of the Daredevil for a few days, I need a break.

I've started thinking about paragon paths. Maybe those creature power specific powers can become a monster hunter paragon path? Maybe even a specific path for vampires/undead. That would be very close to the inspirations for the class. Other possible paragon paths: Inquisitive (more detective abilities), Loremaster, Fighting Alchemist (expanding on Adventurer's Vault), Mastermind (uses minions) etc.
