Insight bonus cost

Question: How much should an Insight bonus to attack cost? Can't find it in T&B or the DMG.

I'm creating a pair of gloves which grant a +10 insight bonus to attacks.

I can't find a listing either. My suggestion would be to price it the same as a luck bonus.

You may not like my answer.

At least 2.5 million gps, but I would make it 6 million gps. Epic level crafting required.

FYI: Craft Epic Wonderous Item is available at a minimum of 23rd level (assuming you have the knowledge and spellcraft ranks)

Why would it be an epic bonus?

An +10 insight bonus to attacks should probably cost 10^2 * 2,500, or 250,000 gp.

The Epic book is a big pile of steaming crap, so I would just ignore it. There's no rule in the core books that says that an item cannot give more than a +5 bonus.

I mean, for 2.5 million gp, I could have a number of slotless items that add:

• +5 circumstance bonus to attack;
• +5 competence bonus to attack;
• +5 insight bonus to attack;
• +5 luck bonus to attack;
• +5 morale bonus to attack

which would cost 5^2 * 2,500 * 5 * 2 gp, or 625,000 gp. I'm now getting a +25 bonus to attack rolls, not using any magic items slots, and still saving 1,875,000 gp.

Actually the Epic book is a great piece of work, but, as usual, opinions vary...

You are right about the +5 and above limit on wonderous items, but you still have to be 30th level minimum to put a +10 enhancement on an item (and that's official).

Pish tosh. Bracers of archery, bracers of armor, circlet of persuasion, all of the + to skill items, and all of the + to ability score items give bonuses in excess of their caster level * 3.
