Inspirational Fantasy Movies

The problem is the lack of good fantasy movies out there; most of them are terrible beyond belief...

Of the good ones, I'd choose:

LotR trilogy
The Adventures of Robin Hood (the Errol Flynn version)
The Princess Bride
Monty Python & the Holy Grail
City of Lost Children

Beyond that I go over to historical and pseudo-historical films (Braveheart), sci fi films, and pure dramas and comedies.

I'm going to put together a list of movies to look into for viewing over the winter months. Keep an eye on my website for it this week.

Just watched Beowulf & Grendel.
Not the best movie I've ever seen, but worth adding to the list.
Spot v Hide, having encounters that don't necessarily always end in combat, clash of religion, etc. From a gamer's perspective it is worth checking out.

I'm glad to see Robin of Sherwood mentioned. I just got the special edition boxed set a few months ago and I'm glad I did. That was perhaps the best take on Robin Hood I've ever seen and really gets me in the mood for a 1e gamefest.

Xyanthon, where did you buy your DVD set? I'm eager to get one as well here in the US.
