The Neverending Story
Labyrinth
Willow
The Princess Bride
Highlander... just the first one, though. :)
Rob Roy
Braveheart
Monti Python ik den Holie Grailen

Well, these aren't classics, but the Sinbad/Hercules/Xena TV block does great wonders for the imagination, too

Fixed that for ya. ;)

Oh, and my contribution to this list is Ator: The Fighting Eagle and The Barbarian Brothers!

edit: That'll teach me not to not read the second page. :heh:

Miyazaki's Mononoke-hime, or as it's called in the English version, Princess Mononoke. Good for inspiring OA stuff as well as perhaps giving ideas for how to use some of the templates...

F.W. Murnau's Faust, silent film, 1926, for an entertaining medieval romp regarding an alchemist's deal with Mephisto gone wrong...and tragic. What goes down when a Celestial and a Fiend make a bet. :p

Funny no one's mentioned HBO's Rome series, if not for a depiction on how European multi-deity pantheons are worshipped and their place in society. Good inspiration on how to portray urban factions, and the ugly things that aristocratic women get themselves into. ;)

Edited to add: Favoritest. Gladiator. Scene. Ever.

Almost everything has been mentioned, so I'll go somewhat obscure:

Ring of Steel
The Blind Swordsman (Samurai Saturdays rock!)
The Hunted (The Christopher Lambert one)
Equilibrium

I posted this on the Media Lounge forum, but since this thread's here, I thought ya'll might like this, the trailer from the new Beowulf and Grendel...

Since we're posting trailers, you have to check out Frank Miller's 300. Click here.

That's a great one. It'll leave you wanting to play a selkie. I'm not sure if selkies even exist in 3.5e.
Selkies are in the Fiend Folio FYI.

My list:

LOTR Trilogy
Braveheart
The Patriot
Alexander
Gladiator
13th Warrior
Hero
Star Wars
And yeah, of course: Mazes and Monsters :]

LotR
Excalibur
Gladiator
Tombstone (Ive always equated adventurers with cowboys :P)
Star Wars
A Knights Tale (a great anachronistic D&D style movie, Ive always thought. Chaucer is the ultimate Bard)
Event Horizon (I so badly want to run in, or better yet play in, a Dragonstar game like that!)

The BBC Robin Hood series

The Auld Grump

Really?
If you mean this one:
http://www.whirligig-tv.co.uk/tv/children/robinhood/robinhood.htm
Then you’re even older than me, as I’m too young to remember it.

If you mean this one:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/drama/robinhood/index.shtml
Then you’re psychic, have access to some important people, or were responsible for the theft of the master tapes, as it hasn’t been released yet. Next Saturday (7 October) is the date for anyone able to receive BBC1.

If, however, you mean this one (and I suspect that you do):
http://www.robinofsherwood.org/
Then I’d point out that:
First, it was actually called Robin of Sherwood
Second, it was not produced by the BBC

The show was groundbreaking for many reasons among which are:
It was the first to include a foreign, Moslem, character as a member of Robin’s band.
It was the first to make Will Scarlet a psychopath, not a dandy.
It incorporated a degree of mysticism and magic into the legends, with evil sorcerers, and Herne the Hunter, forest god/druid.
It had the most gorgeous Marion ever (this last is of course, subjective, and probably relates to my age when I saw the series for the first time).
