"Wait, you aren't Jack Lombardi." and the sudden gunfire.

"The only problem with that is both Friedrich and Black walked down the stairs together. Freidrich would have known right away that Black was not Lombardi." Campbell will state.

"There are too many questions. Lets get in contact with HQ. Another thing they can do is maybe get some ID's from the NYPD on all the guys killed over at the club." Campbell will state while shrugging his shoulders.

Campbell will make a call to HQ requesting all available information on a Jack Lombardi, most likely a member of a mafia family and a hotel room inquiry into the Hilton Hotel looking at hotel guests staying in the top floor suites.

After a minute, Campbell got transferred to Susan in intelligence, who was calling up the file on Jack Lombardi. "Here's what we've got," she said. "Jack Lombardi is a middle ranking member of the Lombardi Mafia Family in New York. Ah, I mean, a suspected middle ranking member of the family. He's never been officially connected with any crime. He's a nephew of Don Lombardi, the suspected head of the family. Wait, something new just came in. According to this, NYPD just identified Jack Lombardi's body. He and three known Lombardi soldiers were just found dead behind the Citadel Club in New York, from multiple gunshot wounds. Oh, and I've got the information about the hotel for you. A man named Conrad Black checked in three nights ago, booking half the suites on the top floor, along with about nine associates."

Private to Cambpell
[sblock]You know Don Lombardi. In fact, the mission where you lost your first partner in an ambush was one where you were being sent to spy on a transaction between Lombardi and members of a cocaine cartel from Colombia. A hired assassin apparantly working for Lombardi fired a rocket launcher at your car.[/sblock]

"Thanks Susan. Can you also pull up Conrad Black and give me a run down on him as well?" Campbell will state to Susan on the phone. "Oh yeah, Black is leaving on a plane for Japan tomorrow. Can you get me a flight number and time as well."

Damn I did have it wrong. Sparrow was right.

Campbell will cover the speaker on the phone and wave Sparrow over. "I was wrong you had it right. Jack Lombardi was one of the dead guys in the car behind the Citadel. Black has half the suites on the top floor. He checked in with nine associates."

"It looks like he arrived at JFK from Japan in a private plane, and they've got a flightpath booked back to Japan tommorow. I can't tell who owns the plane, looks like they've got shell and dummy corporations listed and are hiding it on the paperwork, it'll take a few hours to trace it back it the real owner. We don't have any record on Conrad Black. I'll send an inquiry to law enforcement and national intelligence agency recoreds, but that'll take some time too," she paused for a moment, listening to someone else. "The Colonel wants to know if you're going to need backup?"

"Susan tell the Colonel that I will call back in a few minutes. I need to talk to Sparrow." Campbell will tell her.

"Sparrow, the Colonel wants to know if we need backup. I am pretty fresh out of ideas. What do you think?" Campbell will state to his partner.

Sparrow smiles smugly, "Well, I had thought "Black" was an alias. If I had known that it was his last name... we probably could've just asked the front desk."

He runs over some options in his head.

"We don't have enough manpower to force a confrontation between him and 9 buddies. Sneaking the case out could also be bad - they might switch the contents out. We need a way to subdue all of them to search the place before they have a chance to leave."

"As for how we should do that... I have no idea." He puts his hands up and mimics grasping a steering wheel. "I am way out of my element."

"All right then I will call the Colonel and see what we can do." Campbell will state to his partner.

Campbell calls back "Yeah tell the Colonel we are going to need some assistance."

"Okay, here's what I'm going to do," said the Colonel over the telephone. "I'm going to send two tactical teams down there, lead by Major Thorne. They're going to assist you in taking Black, his men and the suitcase into custody. They'll be dressed in civies in order to avoid the risk of being spotted if Black's got a man watching the lobby. They'll suit up on the top floor."
