INTERCEPT Mission One: The Sensible Initiation

Campbell will walk up to the door marked reserved and pull out his lock picking kit. He will attempt to disable the lock on the door.

Security Check - 24

If the door opens Campbell will check the interior quickly and then look for a good place to plant the bug as before.

With a quiet click, the lock snapped open. It was a tough lock, but not impossible.

The room itself consisted of a table with a few chairs around it, and thick walls. The bug was quickly and easily concealed under the table. The transmitter was wired into a radio frequency that could be listened in on the teams radios. At this point, Cambpell could hear footsteps echoing down the stairs.

No other way out. No way around it now. I will have to make contact with them. Campbell will think to himself.

Campbell will walk out the door and head upstairs.

Friedrich and his associate walk down the stairs by Campbell as he comes up. A third man has joined them, a tall, blonde man in an expensive, tailor made suit. Campbell notices that this man has a large handgun in concealed carry holster. They look at Campbell, but don't appear to be immediately suspicious of him. They walk past Campbell into the reserved room downstairs.

In the main room, Campbell notices that three people have joined the customers already present. They're all seated together at a table near the door to the kitchen, and they were all wearing identical, black suits and sunglasses. They weren't drinking, they weren't talking, they were just sitting there.

As Campbell walks up the stairs he will try to get a good look at the newcomer. That is probably our new target. Campbell will also try and notice if Friedrich or his associate was carrying the secure briefcase from before.

Campbell will walk over to the bar and order a drink. He will then pull out his cell phone and pretend to make a call. Instead he will quietly talk into the radio. "We are set. Have a new guy and three others inside."

Friedrich still had the case with him.

Sparrow easily manages to make it over to the alley, and check it out. The black Ford is still parked there, but things have changed somewhat. The entire vehicle is riddled with bullets, all the windows shattered from gunfire and the tires flattened, and the four men inside are quite obviously dead. They've got guns in their hands, but obviously didn't have time to open fire before they were killed. Shell casings and empty magazines litter the area. Given that no gunfire was heard, surpressed weapons must have been used. The killers aren't in sight.

Just slighty before this discovery, the transmission from the audio bug begins to come in. Staticy and grainy, as per usual of models of this make, its nonetheless quite clear. Obviously, no counter-measures are in place.

"Mr Friedrich," says an unknown voice. "It's a pleasure to meet you. Do you have it?"

"Yes," replied Friedrich. "And is money ready to be transfered into the account we discused?"

"Of course. The funds are ready to be transfered to your Swiss bank account."

"If you don't mind my asking, why exactly is a Mafia family interested in this item? It doesn't seem to relate to your sort of business."

"It's really none of your business," the voice said.

"Fair enough. Let me tell you how we're going to do this," Friedrich continued. "First, you are going to transfer the first two and a half million into my account. Then, I will leave the case with you, and leave. After a short while, I will contact you with the instructions on how to open the case, and you will transfer the remainder of my fee to my account. The lock is quite complicated, and will destroy the case if not opened properly."

"A sound plan," agreed the voice. "With just one, slight flaw. What if my employer was the original owner of the case."

"But it wasn't stolen from-" Friedrich started, sounding confused. "Wait. You're not Jack Lombardi."

"No, I'm not," said the man, pleasently. Then came the sound of three loud gunshots, and then a man started screaming in pain. This was abruptly cut off by a fourth gunshot.

"Frank," said the voice. "This is Black. I have the case, we're leaving now."

And the three man seated at the table stood up abruptly.

"Looks like our friends are on the move. Get to the car and follow them, don't worry about me. I will get the bug." Campbell will state over the radio.

Campbell will sip his drink and wait.

"Roger. Heading back to the car. Listen, on your way out, check out the back alley. There is something going on and I haven't had a chance to look over it."

Sparrow heads back towards the car (If you need it, here is a Sneak reroll: 12 (9 + 3 Dex), http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=490075) and scans the vehicle for anything peculiar (Notice check: 11 (6 + 4 ranks + 1 Wis), http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=490077). He starts it up and remains vigilant.

OOC: Considering my character would have no idea who is coming back out, I don't want to act on that.

Soon, the blonde man who had identified himself as Black appeared up the stairs, the case firmly in his left hand, while talking on cell phone with his right. The three men formed up behind him as he headed towards the front door.

Campbell managed to overhear part of his conversation on the cellhpone as Black walked by. "...be back in Japan by tommorow..."

Sparrow didn't notice anything unusual in his car, after a few second, saw Black and his men come out of the front, and get into a blue, four door, luxury sports car parked out front, and started to drive away, with Black seated in the front passenger side.
