My PCs are fixing to make a 600 mile trek over a desert. They will be flying on hippogriffs, so they will be able to cover a lot of distance. I picture the desert as very much like the Dark Sun CS, and I plan to run a few Dark Sun adventures in the desert as well. So what kind of interesting place might the characters encounter that might be interesting. They are going on a rescue mission, but I'd still like at least something for the characters to see and encounter to give the desert some flavor. They are level 9.
