Interesting experience playing KotS

Well, Charles Ryan works for Esdevium, a big (the biggest?) gaming distributor in Europe. If he didn't have access to a copy of KotS, then I'd be worried about being able to get my copy on release day ;)
I learned yesterday that the shipment to Scandinavia is delayed and I won't get my copy of KotS until May 27 at the earliest. :(

So anything could still happen to us poor europeans...

Scott! You have to mention if a link is NSFW! I had a co-worker step into my office as the Hamster Dance song kicked in. ;)
One imagines that Scott probably has a slightly different standard for what is and isn't safe for work, from working at WotC ... :D

Minions are generally weak, a successful punch in the face and they are done. But you can not underestimate the minions just the same because there are 5 of them in the encounter and when they interact with a standard monster's abilities things get tricky.

For example Hobgoblin minions that lock shields with standard hobgoblins to form a phalanx making them all more difficult to hit.

This was my experience with them. When I ran kobold minions by themselves, it was somewhat of a boring combat, as it was just a hoard of guys that didn't do a lot of damage. One time I added in a gnoll skirmisher with pack attack, and the big attack bonus provided by the kobold minions made a big difference.

Yeah, the more I hear about them, the less I want to use minions on their own; except maybe for the first few 4E battles I run. I think that small groups of Kobold minions, leading into a big fight with an Elite and Soldiers, might throw them for a loop and give them time to adjust to 4E combat before getting into any real tough battles.
