What about a penalty to ranged attacks?

How are you going to aim a bow? Sure you can hold the bow out in the general direction of the guy you want to hit... but since you can't see the bow, you can't use the arrow as a sight for where you're aiming to.

Even being blind doesn't give a penalty in this way. Your chance to hit is the same as if the target were invisible. So by the rules you are just fine. But this doesn't really answer the question, since it makes no difference if you can see your bow when you aim or not. It does matter if you can see the scroll.
