Ionian Dreams (Bront Judging)

"Very low. Nap-of-the-earth techniques are only effective under 200 feet without using geographical features as cover. I will instruct you on our bearings and altitude via the link."

OOC: Let me know if anyone is using extra-effort and I will blow an HP just before we get for everyone to recover automatically.

Carrion looks at Griff, than looks at himself.

"How far? How much time? I...um...I can't go that fast. Never gotten much faster than 100, 110 when diving, maybe? Can I fit with the rest of you? Maybe if I just hold on?"

"Dude, just get in the car. I'll get us there. Don't worry, The Griff is on the job."

(OOC: Griff is, I suspect, going to move all out, which should provide somewhere in the neighbourhood of five minutes of double speed. This gets you there in about 40-45 minutes)

(OOC: The listed fly speed in mph is for full movement, not just a move action, so moving all out, which is four times the usual move action speed, is double the fly speed in mph)

(OOC: I can prove it based on the sidebar on page 32. The sidebar indicates that miles per hour = feet per round * 600 / 5280. This formula gives you the total number of feet you can move in an entire six-second period (it is calculating distance moved in feet per six-seconds) which is a double move. If it wanted to calculate a single-move, it would have another factor of two and calculate it in feet per three-seconds. Thus, the listed mph speeds are for double-moves)

OOC: Actually that is a common house rule (one I use) but I dont think it is RAW.

I could be wrong though.

edit: quick check they do have sprint speeds http://atomicthinktank.com/viewtopi...movement&sid=cf790d3f4b3f5f4bcaba4bd3993dae47
(OOC: They do have sprint speeds, but I think the listed speed is for a double-move. In that thread Steve only confirmed that there were sprint speeds for powers, as the OP thought there was only one speed with no accelerated rates. If they meant the powers to have speed listed for a single move, they wrote the sidebar incorrectly. This is why it was probably a bad idea to list the powers in mph and not feet per move action, I guess.)

OOC: The sidebar is for 'fast and loose' tactical movement. The author of the book seemed to answer that a speed of 10 would have a sprint speed of 40,000 mph. he at the very least did not contradict it. <<shrug>>

(OOC: He almost did, but he actually just answered the question that the super-speeds do have a sprint speed--he may not have been looking at the exact numbers on the chart and just answering off-hand, as the OP was asking a bit of a different question.

I'm not using the fast-and-loose sidebar option--I'm using the exact precise one underneath)
