IRON DM 2025 Tournament Thread

Alas, it would be very difficult (imposable?) to secure permission from all authors – especially for the earlier tournaments.
I am pleased as punch that you all have managed to bring this back and keep it alive. If you do ever want to collect the early years, you'd have my blessing for any of my (seriously old!) submissions.

Enkhi-"early Iron DM"-du.

As we're still not quite through the first round, there's still a slim possibility we could need an alternate, as well, if you want to drop your name in the scheduling thread

I’m not sure how I’ve been on the boards since 2003 and never heard of Iron DM. I’m having a lot of fun following along.
I think it’s often a bit easy to overlook given it’s isolated in the relative backwater of the TTRPGs General forum. If it got a bit more promotion in the d&d forum where all the traffic is, more people might know about it.

I'm a little salty that the pumpkin spice contest got TWO offers of actual prizes, where this is far more work for the winner! (Don't get Mr wrong, I love the pumpkin spice contest).
As contentious as this tournament has sometimes gotten in the past, I think I’d rather not judge one that offered material awards.

IRON DM is hard. Because of that, a loss can sometimes really sting, even when pride and a title are the only awards at stake.

That's a good point.

Round 1, Match 3: Onelung vs GMMichael

@Onelung and @GMMichael, you have 24 hours to post your entries to this thread. Please limit your entry to a title, a list of the ingredients used and 750 additional words. Please include your list of ingredients at the beginning of the entry and please do not edit your post once it is submitted. Please refrain from reading your opponent's entry until after you have posted your own. You are on your honor to do so.

Entries that are between 1 and 59 minutes late will have their word-limits reduced to 675. Later entries that are at less than 1 day late will have their word-limits reduced to 525. Entries that are at least 1 day late will have their word-limits reduced to 375. In addition, entries that are at least 2 days late may be disqualified at the discretion of the judge with consent from the match's opposing competitor. Entries that exceed their word-limits will be considered to end once they reach that limit; I will ignore everything after.

Your ingredients are:
  • Fast Times
