Iron Heroes Question

First Post
I just came from my local Hastings (the only place in town to buy gaming books) and as usual, the latest offering from Oprah's Book Club or whatever appears within seconds of publication, but gaming books take weeks to arrive there. They don't even have Stormwrack yet.

I'm working up a swashbuckling campaign, and I want to use defense bonuses and armor as DR. I'm trying to post the house rules in my group's gaming newsgroup tonight, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the damage reduction per type of armor is? I know it's expressed as a dice roll instead of a fixed number, and I'm curious to see what has what? (If it's not a violation of some copyright, of course).

Thanks in advance.

A rough description - DR = half the original AC value (if you average it).

Full plate is 1d8 points of DR (average 4.5, round down if you don't want to roll dice). Leather is only 1d2 points of DR, however.

There are also feats that improve your Armor DR, like Armor Mastery (1) which gives you a +1 to your armor DR check.

Padded is 1, Leather is 1d2, Studded Leather is 1d3, Scale Mail and Chain Mail is 1d4, Banded Mail is 1d6, and Plate Mail is 1d8.

Shields still give just a bonus to AC.

BTW, in case you are wondering, it is my understanding that book vendors get their D&D books through different distribution channels than gaming vendors. My wife works at a bookstore, and she was getting ready to order some of the Eberron books for me through the store. Races of Eberron shows up on their list, but te Explorer's Handbook still shows up as unreleased, even though my FLGS has had it for a few weeks.

Which accounts for how some stores will swear up and down that a book is unreleased, while you've seen it on the shelves at another store, and you've got friends who have the book in their hands.

Quick note: I'm going to move this over to the d20 systems forum, because it is a whole system rather than a supplement.
