Iron Kingdoms - Available?

You show me the 200-plus page RPG book without typos. I dare ya.

As far as I can tell, Privateer Press are doing just fine, making money and getting along. Far from being "the most backward deployment" I've ever seen, it looks to me like they've hedged their bets, released one great product after another, maintained profitability and are having fun in the process.

Now it's possible they're going to lose their shirts on this one. Heck, it's even possible they've been burning through money since they started and are about to lay off their entire staff. Without evidence either way, it's hard to know.

If you've got more accurate evidence, bring it forward. Otherwise, don't expect anyone to pay any attention to your doom n glooming. If I look at the book and it rocks, I'll buy it. I guess you use different criteria. Hope they work out for you.

But at least the big name Companies can put out a product that has been eagerly anticipated from the start, whose line began 2-3 years before, and get it right without typos. l'd have prefered the setting and character book before three adventures, a monster book, and a fraggin miniaure war game, no matter how nice the minis looked. This is the most backwards deployment of a product line I have ever seen. Sorry, but I, and not a few people at my FLGS, will not be buying this, and I highly doubt said FLGS will carry it, except for special orders. Privateer has lost out on my market.

How will they ever survive...

Grammar and typo errors, AFTER 2 to 3 years of waiting for it and someone has already found writing errors. You know what, I think I'm going to pass.

You're joking right? 400 page books are never without errors. No matter how long in production.

Just picked it up, it seems pretty darned good to me! (But then my eyes get all big and shiny when exposed to steam tech gaming...)

A lot of setting specific ules changes, bot healing and necromancy are more dangerous.

Need to read it, but need sleep more...

Bedtime.

<<whatever dude. This thing is polished and ported. I can live with a few mistypes in order to get one of the best setting books out there.

pishaw....big name companies can't even print the whole pages out without coming out blank!>>

Let's see. The adventures and monster book have all sold out at the manufacturer. the miniatures game has sold better than most non-WotC d20 supplements (at least at my store), and we have sold out several times on the Character Guide, as have my suppliers. Monte's Arcana Unearthed and Green Ronin's Mutants & Masterminds are the only non-WotC d20 books that have sold better for us. YMMV

Dear Mr. Reed,

My players hate you.

Thanks!

Thank you. Those rules came about at the request of Privateer and, if I remember correctly, Privateer actually had me scale back my original. I hope you players enjoy healing! :)

Snazzy Book, Too Bad About the Darkness

I picked up a copy from my FLGS on Friday, and have had a chance to glance through it, but not read much of the specifics. So far it looks cool, except for one thing: the pages and printing are too dark. I know they are going for a style, but the background pattern in the page needed to be screened back more.

Anyone know if they are going to be updating the three original Iron Kingdom modules for 3.5e and this rulebook?
