[Iron Kingdoms] The Age of Rust.

A voice seemed to whisper in Dark’s ear – “ware!”

With a start the Rynnish man’s eyes came back into focus and the subject of his new associates’ attentions intruded itself into his awareness. Dark reached for the fire within his soul and thrust his hand into its blaze, ready to unleash its terrible heat if the shadow should prove to be more than another figment.

Round 1

Tyra: 22
The Enemy (numbered): 21
Eyvind: 14
Kneecap: 5
Dark: 4

Now that you all know you're looking for something, you can make out tall, gaunt figures lurking in the fog, awfully close at hand. The alley suddenly seems claustrophobic and ominously cavernous, the creaking parapets of the warehouses around you overloaded with goods, the two moons above barely casting enough light to see by. The creatures appear to be clambering out of the grates in the ground in front and behind you, and you can hear the water dripping off their soaked carcasses

Then, two of them are upon you, even as the others arrise from the waterway below. From the back of the alley, a waterlogged, filthy human-like figure lunges in, slashing at the surprised Kossite with it's talons, gouging his shoulder and scenting the mist with blood (3hp).

From the mouth of the alley, another one shuffles forwards, an angry moan on it's drawn lips... before it's got more than a few paces, Tyra levels her firearm at it's chest, and the pistol barks, answered by it's own echo. Half obscured as it is, you can only see some part of it blown off, and landing on the ground with a watery splash, whatever bit of the beast it is seems to liquify... but the creature continues to shuffle forwards, unrelenting.

Kneecap, half-crouched in the alleyway seems overlooked by the creature as it passeses - there are definite advantages to being small and unobtrusive, the gobber thinks to himself - and as it passes he gives a whoop and swings his shillaghle towards his target... and unfortunatly, the blow goes wide, missing the tender knees of the creature as it lunges forward towards Tyra.

The Gunmage barely has time to ready herself for the attack... but she ducks back just in time as mud-caked talons snatch at her face. Her attacker stands there, long hair matted and wetly pressed to the skull, skin the bloated, glistening colour of a drowned corpses, teeth sharp and claws long...

OOC: T has had her action this turn, as she readied. K made an AoO. E, K and D may still act.

Dark cackles with glee and thrusts his hand forward towards the rotting corpse before him. The air temperature rises noticeably as fire gouts from his outstreched hand and envelops the creature.

OoC: Burning Hands: d4+1 damage. Reflex for 1/2.

Conclusion of round 2

Tyra: 22
The Enemy: 21
Eyvind: 14
Kneecap: 5
Dark: 4

As the burly Kossite pulls back his bow to fire, point blank, into the creature menacing him, it takes the opportunity to slash at him, but fails to connect... this time. It does, however, jostle him, and moments later, the ranger's broadhead arrow whistles harmlessly past and skitters into the grate, failing to harm another of the creatures that is pulling itself free.

Kneecap darts sideways and swings his club at the creature again, and misses. A moment later, the gaunt, dank creature sprawls against the wall, dead, as a shockwave of flame envelopes it. Dark stares dreamily at his fingers for a moment, then cackles.

Meanwhile, more of the creatures begin to pull themsleves out of the grates...

(OOC: the map represents the end of round 2. Everyone may now post for round 3...)

Tyra

Tyra spins around to see the one coming up from behind that has hit Eyvid she pulls to one side and points her gun at the one on the Scout. A Ray of Frost springs out of the empty gun reaching out to strike the foe (Assuming she casts her spells though the gun). "Oi you loon! Watch with the Fire!"

Eyvind

Eyvind winces as the arrow misses. He steps back and fires another arrow at it. [OOC: 'it' being #5]

[OOC: Point Blank Shot - +1 hit & dmg inside 30' = +4 Att, 1d6+2 dmg]

Kneecap

Kneecap whirls around, staring at the smouldering carcass in front of him.

"And here we thought you were recruited for your sparkling personality-- Uh oh. More!"

Kneecap will move backwards 5' and load his sling and fire at #3.

[Sling ; +3 BAB; 1d3 dmg]

As Kneecap steps backwards, Dark steps forward a pace towards the opening of the alley and raises his hands. Once more flame blossoms from his outstretched fingertips, casting the crooked alley and his maniac smile into shadowy relief.

OoC: Burning hands at 3+4 d4+1 damage (does the cone catch both? 15 ft. cone shaped burst?)
