Iron-Monger(Obadiah Stane) is definitely the main focus we've been shown so far in the trailers and the bits of information that's been released so far. Mandarin keeps getting hinted at and then not and then hinted at and not. Its very very hard to say one way or another what's happening on that end of things, but that short moment in the trailer seems to hint that we get at least SOMETHING.Cthulhudrew said:The big bearded guy is Obadiah Stane (played by Jeff Bridges), not the Mandarin. It would be cool if the Mandarin is in this (unless they decide for some strange reason to make him not Chinese), but everything I've seen or read points to the villain being Stane.
(I'm curious about that Favreau Myspace comment- it comes from 2006, so may be out of date, but then again, maybe not.)
[EDIT- Hm. Looking around a bit, looks like he's made that announcement more than once, so that's cool. Sounds like they may be building him up to be more than just the first film's villain. Still not seeing the rings in the trailer, though.)
Well, I do prefer smart villains who are savvy enough to keep a low profile and work in the background. Makes the heroes have to dig deep as to who is the mastermind.HeavenShallBurn said:Well the scoop was a bust. ^%&* I was hoping for some Mandarin, but if he's strongly hinted at and the movie does well they'll probably bring him in on the sequel.
