D&D 5E (2014) Ironfang Invasion 5E conversion (OOC)

My dude, you can't type something like that *in the post with the roll!* Of course that was going to happen.

Universe: "here's why not"

I guess Lal is stuck with those rolls...

But onward with the good stuff. I still have to figure out which subclass to take...

Everyone always takes the Bear Totem because it's so obviously good. I find that a little boring, but it's true that nothing really compares. Maybe DM will let you make him a Battlerager? Forget all that "Dwarves Only" hogwash and make up a story exclusive to Lal? Lal can wear a spiked overcoat or something.

RP wise, battlerager really doesn't fit. And I have to say, the other totems are tempting. Increased mobility? Giving other people advantage? Those are nothing to sneer at.

I'm an unabashed lover of dex/con-based + Bear totem, but yeah...none of the published subclasses screams "Lal" to me.

Remember that you don't have to stick with the same Totem as you take the different level abilities. I'd sure like to see some of the other totems in play, in particular if you can find abilities that 'sound' more like Lal. You can always play DOWN the "infused with animal spirit" bit and just say, "That's Lal" if the abilities suit him.

If I go the way of the Totem animals, it will be praying to the various animal gods of Yoon-Suin

Like WoBek Jozefa: A donkey. God of swearing and of urgently telling people to stop before they hurt themselves or cause a scene.

Actually, the whole speak to animal things is but a hop and a skip away from praying to the multitude of animal gods.

... and I mean multitudes. I've made over 60 so far... :uhoh:
