D&D 5E Ironfang Invasion 5E conversion (OOC)

Ahahaha, that's the spirit!

Honestly, we all made the characters we wanted to play, and that's what matters, right? :)

(Despite reading that guide, and following one of the writers on social media, where she's posted stuff like this about the AP...I still waltzed in here and went, "Guerrilla warfare in the forest, you say? Ah yes, I know--A SWASHBUCKLER!")

Btw, I was reading the "Pirates of the Inner Sea" supplement last night, and cracked up at one of the terms in the pirate slang section:

Anchor: A person who wears heavy metal armor.

...I may or may not have thought of Harb. ;)

LOL I didn't look at the adventure or anything about it at all. Completely blind. I'll check out the players companion now though. See how ill suited I am. :)

I don't even know anything about Pathfinder or it's worlds! (I found my Cleric's god, Gozreh on the PF wiki! That's literally all I know!)

Time to read!

Thanks, SunGold!

Huh. I'm an ex-sailor who was shipwrecked on a deserted island.

And yet...

This setting doesn't even appear to have an ocean!

Oh no, it does, the gazetteer is just for one small part of the world where the campaign takes place. :)

Here's a zoomed-out map (although even this one doesn't cover all the continents!).

Ah. Okay. I figure Loosh went to Niramathus to get away from the sea and pursue his new calling. He probably was lost somewhere just off that map to the southwest. Used to sail the Shackles, like I assume most pirates do.

Makes sense!

And btw, pirates apparently have a term for Loosh as well:

Windspinner: A spellcaster, specifically one who possesses weather magic.

My overall favorite, though:

Running Lunch: A rat or large insect.

The player's companion (spoiler-free, obviously, since it's meant for players) has a decent gazetteer of the region. Although I don't believe it mentioned Radya's Hollow or Redburrow by name. I'm actually really glad I read it during character creation, because I wasn't going to train in Stealth until I got an idea of what to expect in this AP.*

Maybe I *shouldn't* read the companion? I mean Lal is here due to some kind of magical/dimentional misshap. He knows very little about the area...

For the time being, I'm inclined to follow Aubrin and Flint, taking this one day at a time. We need water and shelter, Aubrin says there's some in whatever direction, let's start there. Challenges and choices will surely present themselves as we start seeing to immediate needs.
I don't think it's realistic to expect more than that...

*I still find it kind of incredible that we managed to put together a 7-PC party for a wilderness adventure but we don't have a ranger or a druid.

well, we *had* a ranger so I felt ok to make a "non nature" barbarian... :/

Does *anyone* have the outlander background? That's almost as good as having a ranger (I don't).

In your defense you did have a ranger, and he bowed out. But yeah this is a at parts wilderness adventure, and you have no one good in the wilderness, well at least you have Aubrin if you don't piss her off.

It's a gross oversight on my part that Loosh doesn't have survival trained. He survived 2 (or so) years castaway. I guess he got by on wisdom alone.
