Is Dungeon Delve rendered moot by lairs?

Something just occurred to me... It seems like Dungeon Delve's claim to fame is that it gives you a few premade dungeons for when the PCs stray too far off the tracks or otherwise you're just not prepared.

But wouldn't the same purpose be served by the lairs which are found in great quantity in Draconomicon, Open Graves and, presumably, other similar books? The lairs are practically mini-dungeons unto themselves, after all.

I don't think rendered moot would be an appropriate classification. Dungeon Delve will hopefully have a variety. Yes the ones in the existing books are nice, but this will have more. Like more cowbell.

I think it really depends on personal preference. Dragons and Undead might get old to some, and some DMs do not have the time to make adventures and lairs...plus can you really ever have enough?

I will not be buying it, I like to make my own stuff or port old adventures, 1e stuff is my bag right now. But that is me and my players preference for the time being. I'm sure lots of the customers will pick it up.

I can't see how even more plug-and-play adventures can be a bad thing for DMs with limited time and rambunctious players.
