Is Hide Spell overpowered?

.Also, you have to look at everything that ANY company puts out with a grain of salt, not just S&S. Their heat generating magic is setting specific, and has reasons for being there. It is not just an excuse to get drow chicks in bikinis (especially considering their setting doesn't even have drow).

I quote page 26 of Relics and Rituals.

The bikini shorts and pointed brassieres that dark elven women are fond of wearing.

Drow are also known as Dark Elves. And it looks to me like they're trying to create a Madona Sorceress

Yes, it's the point of an ambush. So?
My interejection was supposed to lead to the fact that the paragraph that I quoted, was somewhat confusing, and looked like it wasnt the point of an ambush.

Xarlen, from what I've seen, the Scarred Lands setting doesn't have Drow in it, I believe that lin e is meant as a joke. However, I haven't read a lot of Scarred Lands setting material (just CC1, CC2, and R&R) so I could be wrong.

I am curious as to why they think not being able to see the spell justifies not allowing a Reflex save.

Blinded and Deaf opponents still get a refex save against a normal fireball. (Apparently you can feel the heat and move to avoid it. Or something. They never explain these things.)

How is that different from a Hidden spell that has no visual or audible effects?

First of all, it was mentioned as an example of Cultures developing paticular styles of clothing. The example previous were dwarves making mantles and short pants.

Now, why would they make a joke, when they were giving an example?

Second, and I could be wrong, but isn't the Queen of Lies adventure, About Drow, placed in the Scarred Lands?

INteresting point, Caliban. What about changing the feat as follows?

Reflex saving throws against a hidden spell have a DC 4 higher than normal. Evasion and Improved Evasion are useless against hidden spells.

I don't know, but it was certainly humorous to me. Perhps they enjoy a good laugh as much as the next guy?

As I said, I hven't read a heck of a lot of Scarred Lands stuff. Hoewver, White Wolf's site has Queen of Lies listed under Sword & Sorcery, but not under Scarred Lands, so I assume it is not set there. Also, it was written by Monte Cook, and as far as I know he hasn't done anything Scarred Lands specific.

Maybe one of the folks from S&S will chime in.

No, it is not. Sword & Sorcery Studios != Scarred Lands. It is set in a generic fantasy world.

Several companies that are part of the Sword and Sorcery Studios product line, such as Malhavoc Press, Fiery Dragon, and Necromancer Games, do not produce Scarred Lands-specific products.

Most Scarred Lands products will have the Scarred Lands logo on the cover.

Yes, there are Dark Elves in the Scarred Lands. They are described in Burok Torn: City Under Siege.
