Is Kukri a Monk Weapon?

If you are incorporating Pathfinder rules into your game, the list of monk weapons is considerably expanded in the Ultimate Combat book. All-in-all, D&D rules are always subject to change, modification, or utter dismissal at the DM's whim for the purpose of game balance and story integrity. If the DM decides that the kukri is an acceptable monk weapon for your campaign... then so be it.

FYI, back in 2004 the forums had separate "Rules" and "House Rules" forums, so if the question was asked in the "Rules" forum it was implicit that the poster was looking for a by-the-book ruling.

Daggers can be re-fluffed as sai. Clubs can be re-fluffed as jo sticks.

But yeah, you _could_ suggest to your DM that your style of martial arts accounts for Kukri training; the Gurkha of Nepal use kukri in the real world as part of their hand-to-hand training. If your monk was at all jungle-themed and I were your DM, I'd allow it.
