Is my DM setting us up for failure? [Minor Spoilers for Demon Queen's Enclave]

I've gotta agree with the people that say you need find a new group. Given this is the second thread you've had on how horrible the GM is, its time to turn in your character sheet. You are relatively close to a big city, surely there are other players out there.

The only other option would be to explicitly draw out a player/gm contract. However, from your descriptions, the issues are more than just stuff like expected loot and difficulty. Bad GMing is a lot harder to deal with.

It sounds like this campaign sucks, and it's not going to change any time soon. I don't think you should sit there and stew over it. These other people playing seem to be ok with it. So it looks like your problem is that you're in a group that isn't right for you.

I suggest that you begin to find new people to play with. That kind of thing can take a while, so you could keep suffering through this guy's campaign until you've got your new group.

Your DM apparently hasn't even read the DMG, and you are in the paragon tier! Scaling encounters in 4E is ridiculously easy! If he hasn't changed by now, he's never going to.
