Pathfinder 1E Is Paizo the new Palladium? (It isn't!)

I dropped the mike, why is this discussion still going on :).

Seriously, it's not about fanboys defending pathfinder, it's that the comparsion is blatently incorrect. It's like saying, Is Mcdonalds the new Top Hat. (search old detroit hamburger chains). There's no comparison. It's pretty much an insult wrapped in an attempt at discourse. Is the best selling table top game the new only bought in specific circles gaming system.
Heh, better than the Top Hat that came to my mind - there used to be a chain of Playboy Club rip offs by that name.

However....

I seriously doubt you read the entire thread....

I had even to defend why I was thinking Pathfinder was successful in one post.

Also, as TheAuldGrump pointed out, I made a mistake in the title, as I wanted to compare the Palladium Game with Pathfinder, but I wrote the name of the companies.

But I still think two companies can have more in common than a company and a hat...

I am familiar with the thread, including understanding that english is not your native language. My comment still stands as I find the argument moot and I don't think you can thoroughly form your opinion as you have been defending yourself from the ill worded phrasing of your thread for most of the thread.

Yes, pathfinder is similar to every game system if that there is a sect of people who don't like it and like something else. Outside of that, thye have little in common with one another. I'd almost put them on different spectrums of the system, expecially if you're talking complexity.

I would put them both as traditional RPGs (not like Fate) who loose random tables (Pathfinder less) and have good fluff.
And I wouldn't call the number of people who dislike Pathfinder a sect.

I read enough hate responses to Pathfinder system critic. The responses are somehow also often bashing D&D 4e, even if it is never mentioned before. I criticize people who do that.

And what does that have to do with worship? Worshipping something doesn't mean you attack others.

The second part is true, but what would be the web without sharing ones opinion?

Without sharing opinions that will cause a lot of smoke but no light? A much better place.

And anything that could even hint a critic on this forum, epically regarding Pathfinder or 4e, quickly causes a lot of people to be offended.

When on a forum with a common area and separated areas for special groups, I've see those separated areas as places that should be free from people from the other side wandering in and telling you how much you and your group suck, even by the most veiled implication. This is an area for people who play Pathfinder and want to talk about it, not for discussing how bad it or its community is.

I never go to the 4e forum area for specifically this reason. Since I don't play 4e, I have no business in those threads - it only leads to trouble.

I couldn't think of a better word, this is part of the reason I used "". What would have been a better word?

Actually I think a much less frequented place if not for xxx. ;)

But I LIKE Pathfinder! There is no "side", I like multiple games. And I wanted to talk about I have perceived (falsly, as I have concluded in the OP already). And it helped me to see my errors. Should I have posted it in 4e to get at best some Pathfinder bashing, when I actually like the game? And I tried to move it to general, but the mods said it should be kept here.
