Is Star Wars d20 revised worth it?

Glad to hear it. I'm waiting for my copy to arrive from Amazon.com. Should be here Thursday, Friday or Saturday.

Then my group and I start recreating their characters from the ground up. :) Especially since they are both Jedi.

Wasn't there supposed to be some kind of PDF update to the new rules for those who bought the old book? Sure wouldn't have the new goodies like the new races, prestige classes, etc., but you'd at least have the new DR rules, starship rules, revised core classes, etc. But I can't find it on the wizards site. Is this really going to happen, or not?

Wow, slow forum. No one going to answer this?

Well, no one outside of WOTC knows the answer to your question and I doubt that many of them visit this forum very often, and definattly not the ones who can answer it.

I never owned the original d20 Star Wars, but I do think the new book is quite well done. I've only found three major errors so far, which also says something.

-no inclusion of a Force Push ability (like when Darth Maul pushes Obi-Wan into that pit in Ep I.)
-Force Speed and Knight Speed feats do the same exact thing...only difference is that Force Speed requires 7th level of Force-using, Knight Speed needs 7th level of Jedi class. I don't see what the point to that is...
-Dissipate Energy is broken like the Soviet Union, even with the fix from J.D. Wiker that makes is only applicable to energy-based wound damage. It just shouldn't be possible to soak a lightsaber (especially not that easily), period.

Despite the above, though, I think it's excellent. I also like my Rebellion Era Sourcebook. There's not much in the way of stats, but the actual setting info is superb.

That would be Force Strike that does that. Move object also could too.

Well Knight Speed is can be choosen by a Jedi upon reaching Knight level (7 levels in a Jedi Class). Force Speed is available to the Force Adept and many of the Darkside PrC's that aren't Jedi.

I think what he's trying to say is why didn't they just make Force Speed one of the Feats you can select as your Knight's choice on reaching 7th level.

just ordered it on amazon.com, something i usually don't do. however, seeing as it is a re-release of a book that just came out a year ago, i think it was justified. i saved about $10 on it, and for once i'm not ashamed in going to a big clearing house for an rpg product.

i am looking forward to it, though.

(Decides to checks Amazon himself)

Being in the UK he checks Amazon.co.uk first to discover it is 9% off. Which happens to exactly match the postage he has to pay to get it within 1-2 weeks (it doesn't even ship within 24 hours!).

So checks Amazon.com and with its 30% discount, and even with international shipping rates it works out cheaper and could arrive in the similair time frame (11 to 18 days).

Can anyone tell me the point in the UK website?

You're incorrect about Force Strike, it moves nothing, it only does damage. Move Object can only hurl up to 50kg. When Darth Maul force pushes Obi-Wan, Obi-Wan certainly has more mass than 50 kg (104 lbs.). Which leaves the revised rulebook with no method to force push anything.

As for the speed feats, there is no difference aside from the word Jedi vs. the word Force in the prerequisites. There is absolutely no reason to have these two identical feats, where only one would suffice.
