No. As a matter of fact my purchasing power has increased by $50 a month since March of this year. I might be seeing another increase in personal finances by about as much as $25-$50 a month more starting next year.

To an extent, in that I dont have quite the same amount of disposable income as I have to spend some of my hard earned cash on silly things like the mortgage and utility bills, not to mention getting the all important 'treats' for my 6 yr old daughter. That said, its my birthday next week and I'm tempted to pig-out on purchasing the deluxe rulebooks, which I swore I'd never do!! :)

It has affected my spending, but not how you might think.

I haven't been buying a whole lot of gaming products lately, economic crunch or not. However, with the tightening of belts, I've seen an increase in my group's desire to have cheap entertainment - and gaming is cheaper than most other entertainments you leave the house for.

So, my spending on gaming sessions (munchies, soda, pizza, etc) has seen a slight increase.

Only inasmuch as printing prices seem to have skyrocketed. The days when you could buy a 256 page hardcover for $25 seem to have passed.

My budget hasn't changed.

Heck, no. I game more when I'm poor. Cut back on the coffee drinks, spend more on something that will be around for a while.

Four 4-hours sessions of entertainment for 6 people ... for $15?! That's something like $ .19 per person/entertainment hour.

A freakin' steal, in my book.

So, I am curious if the economic crisis is affecting the way you are spending your gaming money. Please share how it is affecting your gaming hobby and what you are (or are not) purchasing.

No. I never bought every book anyway, so gaming materials is a pretty small part of the overall budget. Printed-at-home character sheets and pencils are cheap, I’ve used the same dice for 15 years. etc. etc. I can easily spend more on snacks for game day than on books. If I needed to tighten the belt I’d get a lot more mileage from eating out less than by cutting back on D&D.
