D&D 5E Is the Forgotten Realms experiencing a new Golden Age now that its NOT the default 5e setting anymore?

Yeah, I am confused by this post. How is FR no longer the default setting? Was there an announcement I missed?

I'm basing it on the fact that they are focusing alot more on multiverse settings like Planescape, Spelljammer, Radiant Citadel, Domains of Delight, Ravenloft, etc..., then FR compared to the first years of 5e.

The multiverse is the main setting now, not just in terms of what Jeremy Crawford says, but in actual practice

In fact the designers have always denied it, and stated that the Multiverse is the default Setting. Going back decade.

Forgotten Realms is the most popular Serting, and conducive to being refurbished for standard High Fantasy honebrew Settings, si they use it a lot. But it is not the default.

I believe actions over words and by actions FR was the default until the last few years.

Yet the Yuan-Ti presented are not Forgotten Rralms Yuan-Ti, st all, and nothing else is really keyed in to Realmslore.

How are they not? Much of it seems to be based on Serpent Kingdoms, which is a Forgotten Realms supplement. It also specifically mentions the God Merrshaulk in the Yaun-Ti discussion, which is a Forgotten Realms God.

They have consistently made FR default for years.

But that slowly dismissed over time.
Proof here, they have followed this game plan precisely:

@AnotherGuy went back and found these from Jeremy Crawford about how the Forgotten Realms are not the core Settong...in 2016. Time has really born out that the drsign team meant what they said about Settings at the start:

You can compare the Volo's material to the Forgotten Realms Wiki: they throw out basically everything about FR stuff other than a name in a sidebar and use the default Greyhawk lore from AD&D.
