Is the Warlock going to kill the sorcerer and take his stuff?

You know, the warlock should probably take the sorcerer's name too. What I mean is:

"I've got a Wizard 2/ Warlock 3/ Warlord 4."
"Wait, is that a Wizard 2/ Warlord 3/ Warlock 4?"
"No it's a Wizard 3/ Warlord 2/ Warlord 4."
"What?"
"No, wait, let me check my sheet again."

I mean, that one thread that talked about the Wizard/Warlord landing a crit with a fireball confused me instantly, and the stupid game hasn't even come out yet. That's gonna be such an avoidable little headache.

Obviously a Warforged character.

I think it'd be simpler if they renamed to Fighter the Warrior, the Wizard to Warmage, the Cleric to War Priest, the Paladin to War-Paladin, the Ranger to War Scout and the Rogue to Wargue. And the races to Warman, Warelf, Warf, Warfling, Warldrin and Warorc.

Everything would be much clearer then.

It's interesting that after misconstruing something that I said plainly, you go straight to attempting to construe the subtext of something else I said.

I've played a few sorcerers and wizards, and they were alll pretty effective. I certainly never felt crippled.
It's interesting that you think that. I've had several sorcerers in my game and they've always been very ineffective.

I see what you're saying. Though honestly I prefer the name Warlock to the sorcerer, for one because I want to use sorcerer in an in character manner without confusing players/i].

"I'm a samurai."
"So where are your two ancestral blades?"
"No, I didn't take the Samurai CLASS, but I am a Samurai."
"How can you be a samurai without taking the class?"
"Paladin and monk."
"Then shouldn't you be a paladin/monk?"
"SHUT UP."

WotC keeps snatching up good adjectives for spellcasters. That, and warlock sounds more sinister.

Admittedly, it is a better argument for changing the Warlord's name to something else, but there seems to be a shortage of good ideas on that score, while there's tons of names out there for magician-types.

The sorcerer class sucked, that's all I can say...

At least the Warlock offered something more unique as a class, and ended up getting more support than the sorcerer (not counting spells, which also belong to the wizard) did towards the end of 3e.

Anyways it's time to make a Warforged Warlock/Warlord...
