Is there a feat to increase non-variable spell results

Doing a bunch of damage simply isn't an impressive use of spellcasting power, especially when you're doing it with your highest-level spell slot. This is even more true when you're playing a PC, who can normally rely on having some heavily armed folks around for cleanup. Empowered 3rd level spells rarely compare to the options you could get in 4th and 5th level, without spending a feat. Maximized 3rd level spells don't compare to what you can get in 6th level. And so on.
Feats are not "costed" to be competitive with other options, they are coshed based on who can make the most use of that particular option. Metamagic feats are perceived as weak because the game devs balanced them based on the extra flexibility the feats added to a caster's spell selection.

While the Devs did not hate sorcerers as detractors often claim, the designers DID value the flexibility of a small spell list immediately available VERY highly. A feat and a high spell level cost was not enough for the increased flexibility in their opinion and they added a final tax of an extra move action for spontaneous casters to metamagic a spell.

As to why Quicken was forbidden to sorcerers, I've always guessed the devs felt sorcerers had too many spells per day so the "pain" of burning through too many spells would not be felt enough by the sorcerer.

Isn't there a feat in PHB2 or CompMage called Repeat Spell or something like that? ( I'm a bit fuzzy minded due to illness at the moment.)

Haha.

If I remember correctly, Repeat Spell basically "casts" the spell the following round. So if you Summon Zombie A in Square 12, the next round a Zombie B will also appear in Square 12.

And SM actually mentioned that feat earlier in his second post, so it's a possibility but doesn't quite do what he's wanting.

Wotc has been selling $upplements to get around the checks and balances of their own baseline rulebooks for years now. The $upplement treadmill is very profitable if you can gets the fans to run on it. IIRC Tome and Blood was the first to have the twin spell and split ray feats.

Yep- for 3Ed. When they released 3.5, they "needed" to reintroduce those feats.

Personally, I would have been happy if they had published a list of unchanged material that still worked OR a tome-like PHB with all the stuff they intended to reintroduce, but that's me. I realize those solutions wouldnt have worked for everyone.
