Is there any knowledge of new FR products in 2004 besides the Player's Guide?

the Old Empires. I have great hopes for the Serpent Kingdoms (Tashalar and Mhair? Please!) and think this is a good direction for FR to go.

Among other areas, yes. I'll see if I can dig up my notes from this years GenCon (doubt it, I haven't found 5-6 other things I brought bcak from GenCon; I seem to have lost a bag....) or I'll email Eric and ask him for more info. It covered a lot of areas that have barely been touched on in the past. Lapalilya (sp?) was one area that was mentioned as well....

However, despite the fact that Kara-Tur, Al-Qadim, & Maztica probably don't have much hope publishing-wise, it'd be nice to see these settings get the 3.5 treatment via a Dungeon/Polyhedron mini-game. At least the basic info (new classes & races, modifications to existing info, etc.) could be presented in this format instead.

At the least, it could be 1 article per setting, covering the bases. At the most, it could be a series of articles, each one focusing on a particular aspect (races, classes, monsters, items, etc.).

Great idea. In fact, this would be perfect for a big event like they did with "Invasion" earlier this year.

A minigame in Poly detailing new PC stuff for an Arabian campaign. Some Dungeon adventures in al-Quadim. And in Dragon, some articles on this alternate setting.

Kara-Tur is a little more difficult, since OA has already covered that ground in general.

And Maztica...I always liked the idea, but the execution kinda fell flat for me. It would be great to try it again, but I think they might have to do some heavier retcons...

This would be great. Not my ideal, but great.

Sorry to hi jack the thread. To be honest, I'd rather that it wasn't al-Quadim, but a more generic type deal. The only reason I'd want WotC to do it is because they could use the classes etc willy nilly.

I'm sure they'd consider liscencing it.

Anyway, enought arabian adventures posting in this FR thread.

Question put to Rich Baker by WOTC poster

"Rich Baker:

Will the Player's Guide to the Forgotten Realms contain any additional information on the various speical paladin orders and monastic orders of Faerûn?

Most specifically I am looking for information on monks of the Old Order. The FRCS says that they strictly follow a philosophy espoused from some dead or non-existent deity but says nothing about the teachings at all."

Richs Response:

"Nothing right now, although we're contemplating a sourcebook that might explore those at greater length."

There might be a 3.5 Prayers of the Faithful inthe works
